50% off in EA Store

I am in the process of downloading MOH but the download has messed up twice and I had to start from the freaking beginning!

It's nearly 14gb big, can I copy and paste the files across to my brother like steam or will he have to download it too?

Is there any way to backup the install files for an EADM game?

Wanting to know the answer to these questions too! Somebody must know the methods :)

EADM Settings, you should be able to figure it out from there.

(Just go to the download location pre-install (if you have the check box unticked) and copy/paste the files out)

can confirm that the code that is sent for BC2 - Vietnam via the Ea Store will work with a steam version of vanilla BC2

the code is linked to your EA account NOT your steam account. so its all good.

Keep Game Installers after games have been installed was ticked!, i checked my download cache and it's empty!

This is for BFBC2 Deluxe

Not sure what say, I got the 'bfbc2_dd' folder copied & pasted from my EA Store copy on release out of the cache folder.

Has it moved it anywhere?

Seeing as a load of OcUKers have picked up BFBC2 it would be good to know what servers you all play on

I think you can, I backed up my steam folder onto an external and whenever i feel like playing a certain game just copy the steamapps folder across then check the game files under options within steam, it downloads the updates then its ready to play after a steam reboot

Does this game need patching?

I've downloaded it from EA store and it does say to patch the game before installing Vietnam also how do you use the bonus item code?

Basically patch your BC2 to the latest version and when you load it up, there should be a drop down box on the left hand side labeled Vietnam or something like that - just enter the code in there.

Regarding backing up installed files you've downloaded... This is possible today. Here's how to do it:

To make a back up copy of a game where you have the installer, first navigate to your cache directory in windows. The default cache directory is C:\ProgramData\EA Core\EADM\

Within this directory you should see the email address you use to log in to EADM. Open this directory.

When you open this directory it lists all the installers you downloaded. You can copy these to external media (CD/DVD etc.) Sorry this isn't easier, we're looking at how to simplify the process in future versions of the product.

That's the thing it HASN'T stored anything!, it made the cache folder but hasn't stored a thing. Even with the option to keep installers is ticked, it saved Battlefield 2 perfectly but BFBC2 hasn't

Did you tick the check box after installing?

It removes them after installation, I've always backed them up before pressing 'Install'.

The box was already ticked, but i most likely installed it before backing up..

Mine was also ticked and for both the MOH and BO the cache folders are empty. Surely this is not the only way of backing up existing games?

I like the way steam works. If I download a game I can copy it over to my brother so he does not have to download it too
