The Ashes 2010-11: Australia v England ** spoilers **

Thanks for the YouTube link that's bad sportsman from ponting there the comments on YouTube are right though if it had been a Pakistan or Indian player they would have had a ban

What was the thud at 55-56secs though (at exactly the time the ball was next to the bat)? the bat was nowhere near his pads until after he'd swung out at it and I don't see what else it could have been except for either unsynchronized audio or background noise.

Given that it doesn't occur in any of the other replays, and the snickometer registers nothing, I think you can be pretty sure it's background noise.

Not too happy with all this 'victory' talk in the media about simply retaining the Ashes, after the way we've played so far Id be disappointed if we didn't win the series outright which is still a lot of work to make happen and we need to stay focused to the end.

Its almost tempting to consider declaring overnight as the wickets have been falling in the early sessions and see if we can put the Test to bed. That or play out the day for another hundred plus and make some juicy footmarks for Swann to aim at

Yeah that's confused me a bit. If, or when, we win this Test we RETAIN the Ashes. Not the same as winning the Ashes again. A win here and a draw sees us win it but all a win here does is guarantee we can't lose the Ashes. Wish the press would get that bit right.

I think Trott and Prior will be allowed more time, perhaps a Prior ton is the aim, then smack it around for a bit and assuming we're near a 400 run lead if Trott or Prior were to lose their wickets we might declare then.

Doesn't matter how flat the pitch goes, Aussy's cannot survive 2 full days let alone any time during they have to bat during the third on top.

Let Trotty and Prior go on for a bit, keeping the guys happy and giving Confidence in the process :)

On a side - How good does Trott look at 3? this guy's got exactly the right persona and attitude about him in the middle for batting at that number.

Woke up at 2 o'clock this afternoon :)

Quins have won, Arsenal have won, all we need is a Trott double and a Prior cheeky century, bat the morning session and then give the Aussies the afternoon and the evening to produce something.

Beer is in the fridge. I'm excited :)

To be fair I wouldn't turn up to watch the opposing team batting comfortably, test cricket is dull live at the best of times, let alone watching your own country being carted all day.
