***The Official Gran Turismo 5 Thread***

Well most of the cars I've driven have been mid engined ones so I'd expect them to be a bit lary on the brakes because of this, but despite that in a straight line I'd not expect the brakes to be locking so easily.
I'll have to compare some more to other cars.

Bought myself an LP670 on a whim, and don't really like it as much as I was hoping I would. :(
Just trying to level up without getting bored stiff at the moment, I just want to drive the McLaren F1!!

I love mine :D Maxed out on softs there's not a lot that can touch it round a track (that I've met so far, no race cars etc)

You might get one as a prize somewhere.. can't remember where though!
Anyway, what's happening with your car is that under braking the weight transfers forwards, less weight on rear wheels = less grip on rear wheels, generally speaking brake bias will be more forward on cars IRL, but not massively so (have you ever noticed how front discs are usually larger?)
Be sure your car is low and stiff obviously, but try making the rear a little softer than the front. Maybe make the front slightly higher (IRL this is not ideal aerodynamically, but idk if it makes a difference in GT!)
Oh, most very fudging importantly, reduce break pressure on downshifts! Engine braking combined with erm.. brake braking, results in lots of braking at the rear, in a high powered M/R, enough to spin you out.

edit:

Srsly? The road one or the race car? I think the Minolta with the big turbo would give it a run for it's money -_-
edit: Oh, don't know if you're referring to the F1 or the LP670 there, only the F1 has a race variant (afaik!), wouldn't mind a lamb GT car!
Either way I think the Minolta would put up a good fight.

Tried GT5 in 3D today, it's a pretty poor attempt at 3D tbh

The image quality takes too much of a hit and the only thing that looks 3D is the HUD :(

Yeh I understand the theory behind it all, I'm just surprised how extreme it is in GT5 I guess. Was much less significant on other sims I've played. Then again I suppose most of the sims I've played have been race cars, rather than ordinary road cars.

In the meantime I'll just try and drive smoother on the brakes and not get impatient :p
Anyone know if there is a way to adjust the sensitivity of the brake pedal on the G25? With ABS on (which overrules the bias issue I have) set on 1 the brakes are still locking at barely half travel on the pedal.

Doing final test in license I-C But my god that dam Lambo car sucks balls! Had to leave it for awhile i either spin of get knocked or hit a car a little too hard.

Dont mind all the other tests but the lap battles are just a pain

Isn't it a Ferrari?

Also, try to keep it in as high a gear as possible (assuming you are using manual transmission). It handles a bit better the higher gears.

Endurance races unlock at level 25 and at level 30 you unlock the Red Bull prototype.

But IMO there is little incentive to level up past level 24, endurance races give less money and exp than the seasonal events.

Unlock the ability to buy it, but you don't win it, at 30 in A or B you unlock the A-spec Seb Vettel Special Challenge, if you bronze all 3 of those events you win an X2010. If you reach level 35 in B-Spec you'll win a X2010 iirc, will let you know on that front later today with any luck :D

Give a pair of Pulfrich 3D glasses a shot. No quality or performance loss. Only trade off is the scene has to be moving (which isnt an issue in a racer !). Not the same 3d effect the producer was going after but still 3d never the less ! ;)

Like The Wind B Spec, what a waste of time, my dog could drive that Minolta faster around those 2 courses. He will need the Red Bull X10 to win LTW and i still doubt he would win. No Toyota 7 for me then.

Employ a hot headed 2nd driver, up the aero all the way up, then keep him in the red, making him even more aggressive :)
