Steam christmas sale 2010... *twitch*

Did they design this X3 game to actually make you not want to play it? Been following that dummies guide and I got to the Federal Argon Shipyard, selected autodock, the computer took over.....and rammed me into the station. Game Over.

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGH

Time to start again, was this programmed by the janitor?

i always found the X games incredibly difficult to play.

once, i got quite far into X2 (by hex-editing my save with lots of money) and got factories going and everything, with transports all set up to ferry goods to and from their sources and destinations, and so on and so forth (ie, HOURS of work) and waited at the end factory (producing plasma cannons afaik) and it DIDN'T work!

somewhere along the line, despite meticulous amounts of planning and effort the damn thing broke down and i said "screw it, this is too much like hard work" and started playing something else.

Manual labour. Right click every game, pick it's category from the list, confirm, next game. Which makes it a pita for anything over a few games, even though it's a necessity imo. :(

It's useful, but not been thought out well.

Indeed. Sod that ;) Alphabetical order seems to work for me, I haven't failed to find a game yet that I know the name of :D

I'm only doing it to get rid of the totally dire ones so I never have to look at them again. Like Gumball Adventures.

That's the bad thing about Steam. With retail games if you make a bad purchase you can sell it, or at least hide it. With Steam it's always there as a reminder of your foolishness :p

Damn it....

Cant decide wether to buy Mass Effect 1 or go straight to the sequel...

Want Mass Effect 2 more, but will not having played the original matter to any major degree?...

Trying to connect to a server in BF2 but keep getting dropped with an error msg.

"you have failed to connect please check your network connection s and try again"

firewalls are off. Still nothing.

Surely you don't need games installed that you don't play? Just Show > Installed and the rest is alphabetical ;)

Well if I fancy playing a game that I don't have installed, I can't play it can I? :p

If I go to play something on a whim, I'll probably have lost interest before it's downloaded. :p

As long as I've got space, I'll keep everything on Steam installed. :)

Yeah I make sure I've got everything installed off Steam unless I've completed it or have physical media for it. Especially important if you have bandwidth caps, I make sure I suck it all down offpeak and then it's ready for when I want to play.

For example I've got some games on Steam that have been installed for years but I haven't got round to playing them yet :)

WEll i just bought the valve collection and HOI2 complete and arsenal of democracy and all for the princely sum of £36 i am well happy and have thousands of hours games playing to keep me going in the new year now :). Also have a copy of half life 2 spare if someone wants it first one gets it :).
