Not sure what size to look at. I'd keep all my games on my WD Caviar Black and install everything else to the SSD i.e. office, blu-ray software, google earth etc

30gb will do, but you'll be living on the edge always. Got a Vertex 30gb in a HTPC and with W7 pro 64 and various media players etc.. i have about 17gb left. This is with a set page file and hibernation and system restore disabled. I'd say 64gb min to be comfortable.

how have you managed that ive got a new comp this week and ive only got 25 gb left on ssd 60gb ssd ,ive only put 1 program on also ,also having problems with using me 1tb hdd at first i couldnt figure out why it was unallocated ,then i formated the drive ,wonderfull it then became disc E now i cant seem to be able to submitt anything to it ,i was hoping i could put all me photos ,videos ,music and documents and such like ,and leave the ssd for essentials .

I have most apps installed to storage hd and still come to 60gb on my boot drive, luckily its an 80gb ssd so I have a little bit extra so it's not jammed full.

I have exactly the same configuration you're going for. I have a black caviar 1TB where I keep everything and a C300 SSD 64GB Sata III *only* for OS. I have more than half capacity of free space. :)

30 wont do at all just my c:\windows folder is 17.0 GB (18,336,012,510 bytes)

I have:

Crucial C300 128GB - OS & Applications
Crucial C300 128GB - Games
WD Black 1TB - Storage and anything else

Everything runs nice and quick - but certainly not the cheapest way of doing things.

I personally would never get a BOOT drive smaller than 40GB however the 30GB are fine. Issue is they soon fill up. On my raid set up and on my single drive, both have about 36GB used without anything else installed and after all updates etc. 30GB as suchci dont think would be enough.
