Skill Training Help Please

Hi all.

Am currently pluggin my way through EVE on this toon.

As you can see, teh SP per hour is fairly low and was after some sage advice as to what i should remap for?

The 2 +2 implants will be replaced with +4's, so that will increase things a wee bit.

Am currently aiming to get myself in an Anshar and then a Rorq after that. Not sure after that either, but the Universe is my cockle, as they say.

Please feel free to PM me or send me a maily through my trust

Cheers in advance

well the skills for the JF need perception and willpower mainly those are quite low as you have them set now

Cheers for that, will it tell me in each mission if it will affect factions?

Just got my CO pack and the code goes straight in and I did get the implant so that's great....

But, I don't get the option to plug it in, all I get is consume, reprocess, trash it....
I have an ocular implant it says in slot one but can't see how to display the separate slots or why I can't use the implant.
Any pointers as to why?

To see your implants: Character sheet > Augmentations. It only shows you implants you have plugged in to that clone, in the appropriate slot, if that slot is empty you won't see anything. i.e. if you have no implants that page will be blank.

Can you write in here exactly what your implant is called.

Cheers for the reply, finally managed to find a thread that just said use "consume" on the right click tab. Did that and it went in fine, I can only assume you do it that way rather than "plug in" as it decays over time, ie, consumed....would be nice to have it spelt out though being a newbie ;)

Hi all,

Been thinking I've Eve a lot recently, much like a reformed smack addict I guess. What's it like lately? Are player numbers in the same region as, say 2 and half years ago? Tempted to revive my account but there are a couple of things stopping me. I had a Corp that consisted of a few real life friends but we eventually went our separate ways (in game then irl) due to having families etc. I don't want to fly solo again like in the beginning... Is there an OCUK friendly Corp? I'm not too into pvp due to regularly getting my behind handed to me and a lack of funds ;) I invested in mining ships and iteron type haulers that eventually got "lost". I also don't have as much time as I used to but an hour or two a few evenings a week :(

Should i hit the button or forget about it?

Why don't you buy a plex and play for 30 days and see how it goes.

Hour or two a few times a week is plenty of gametime. I tend to play a lot for a few weeks, then don't touch it for a month or so, repeat. Varies a lot.

I was running a level IV yesterday out of Motsu and I forgot how much rubbish ends up on local chat. It all ended quite well though, I was in a toxic cloud and someone warped to me to get the loot/salvage the wrecks. They were in a stabber and quickly went pop as the cloud quickly ate through their ship hehe :D.

Hi Brennen,

Yes there's an ocuk corp on eve that's still going, and we're still trying to help players new or returning to the game. Pop by the "ocuk" public channel and we can help you out with any questions.

In fact there's a lot of people there that are part of the ocuk community if not in ocuk directly that can help you.

The number of concurrent players has now gone up to 24k-46k rather than 17k-24k from a few years ago.

Debating re activating but I can never really get in to EVE which is such a shame as I think the game has such potential to really draw me in.

I was the same a year or so ago. Had a lot of mates trying to get me to play it whilst I was at uni, and I was glad I didn't really because I'd never have got any work done!

What parts of the game made it hard for you to get into?

I don't really know how to explain.

I have the tech for a T2 small fighter plane thing. I guess I didn't find a lot going on. Might of been the wrong areas and stuff but I don't really like questing or doing missions. Don't really want to mine for money as I can just buy GTC and sell them. I just wanted to PvP but I guess I got raped a lot.

I tried joining Red Vs Blue which was fun for a bit but I wanted to be a pirate more than anything but everyone and their grandma had more skill points than me and would merk me.

Guess I'm trying to say I suck after playing it on and off for like 3 years.

Yeh skills are a barrier in that respect, only a few months playing should get you solid enough in a T2 frigate to compete with other more experienced players as the chances are most will have worked up and specialised in other things - staying just with frigates limits what you need to be able to do well a lot :)

Were you pretty much playing mostly solo at times or with friends?

Don't be deterred from eve because of the skillpoints, instead plan carefully and decide what ship it is you want to fly amazingly for pvp, and do not deviate from that skill plan.

That way when ppl ask you what can you do in terms of team ops, you can say for example that you are an interdictor pilot with relevant skills.

Also if it's a pirating corp you want to be part of, advertise in the recruiting section of the EO forums, i'm pretty sure you'll be mailed quite quickly. State your character profile and that you wish to join a band of pirates.

This way you learn the tricks of the trade with a group of people, rather than trying to make it on your own.

Hi mate when doing this is was mainly solo. I tried the RvB but like I said it was organized and nothing really to loose/gain.

Cool thanks for the advice mate, I think I may just do that then and give it another shot :)

Hi All...

I am thinking hard about resubbing. I am back in on the 5 day resub thing at the moment.

My main flies gallente drone boats. I have mainly been flying Level 4 missions in a salvaging domi. I have about 8 million SPs mainly focused on flying the domi well. I did play for about 7 months before leaving before. The main reason is I am in a pretty great corp but they are mainly based in the US which means that when I am on there is not much going down. I did get involved with some roams before which were amazing....but they started at midnight I think!

I am in Empire at the moment and they have moved into nullsec 61 jumps away from my current location. I do like the idea of being based in nullsec but I am worried about making my way over there and essentially being on my own.

I am thinking that I am better being with a UK based corp who are likely to be on at the same time.

There are some things I have never got involved in but would like to try (plex running for one). I really like PvP but I think I need some help at first rather than going off on my own. I have never got involved in the industrial or mining side of things.

What sort of stuff do the OcUK corps get up to?

Hi there spudbynight,

The ocuk corps side of things which i'm a part of mainly focus on wormholes which have a bit of everything, pve, pvp, mining and manufacturing, kind of like a mini nullsec in the way you occupy an area and defend it from people trying to get your resources.

Most of us have pve running setups in empire anyway for lvl4 mission running should we need an extra boost of cash, but most of our isk is made inside the wormhole, which we stay inside probably about 90% of the time. Since in there lies many an opportunity for pvp and site running the sleepers, or perhaps even both at the same time.

We do some side ops, like nullsec roams with other corps we're friendly with as part of our pvp experience. We have on occasion also done some lowsec ops on gates, roids and stations.

We're currently training up some recruits in hisec, and you're quite welcome to join in the training sessions and i can have a more indepth chat with you to see if the ocuk corp is for you.

Please pop by the ocuk public channel, which is just "ocuk" in eve.

I have just been chatting to someone....going to be back in the channel when the servers go back up. The guy I spoke to suggested I speak to one of the recruiters...

There are a lot of non ocuk corp people in the ocuk channel, but they are still a big part of the community on eve, so most likely they are not directly able to recruit you but have pointed you in the right direction.

The corp in qestion is ocuk, but the alliance is "Overclockers Podpilot Services" OCPS. I'm part of the executor corp Xenodus Initiative, so look for the senior guys in either of those 2 corps.

Some of us are at work atm, me included, so i can't actually get onto eve at this time.

You will want to speak to Mr Floydy or myself Kaylen Vimanis when we're online about whether our corp will suit your playing style. Hope to see you later.
