New 60GB Vertex 2 - losing space!?! HELP!

Installed two days ago and very happy with the speed. Using it for Windows 7, Office and Kaspersky anti-virus. All other apps and games are on 2nd drive.

Thing is.. after install, I had 35.2GB free on the SSD. I have barely done anything yet, but the space keeps disappearing. I'm down to 33.9GB now...

What's happening? I've checked, and TRIM is enabled.
 
So... stop worrying, and just carry on?

That's not a problem, as long as it's what everyone else does!!
 
have had the same problem chap ,not much you can do to be honest ,there is some thing to do with page files /read and write so you can manage them yourself also do the hibernation off in command prompt ,its in one the earlier posts just done it also make sure to use administrator,i know ive just done this and got 5gb back ,youre drive will get smaller still, mine was like that to begin with ive only got 20gb left to play with ,thats what i thought great still got 30gb left and that started to get smaller and smaller ,without installing programs and games ,60gb aint enough really imho.
 
If not needed, disable hibernate

1. Open a Elevated Command Prompt. i.e run as admin

2. In the elevated command prompt, type powercfg -h off and press Enter.

You'll get a few gig back.
 
So just to confirm... will this happen forever... until my drive runs out of space? Surely not?! If this is the case, I've only got about a month's usage left!?

In my experience it 'settles down' after a while, my WinSXS folder is ~7gb and has stayed around that size for a while now.
