There is a reason you set the cut off date as the 8th, and people appear to have just ignored this :( It's disappointing when you go to the trouble of choosing gifts, posting them out on time etc and receive nothing in return :(

the issue I found this year was that the names were only given on 22nd November. I was still sick in bed so couldn't get to the shops. Then we got hit with the snow so I had to resort to ordering online as the shops in my local town are just well pants tbh.

Then the post office decided to close because of the snow :( so I couldn't receive and I couldn't send :(

Maybe next time we could have the names a little earlier? pwease?:p

is it a revolver? i got the same of a mate, its great fun :p surprisingly accurate too. have a look online to mod it to shoot a bit further.

22nd and we still had people who missed the signup deadline. :D
 
I haven't received anything yet either, though I'm not exactly holding much hope anyway. Also, my recipient has received his present but hasn't bothered to post or put up pictures.
 
At least.

I'll leave their fate up to the dons, if they wish to take it further. No doubt that if too many didn't send them, that'll be an end to these SSs.

That'll be a great shame :(

Pretty appalling if a large chunk hasn't sent anything, not sure why so many seemingly haven't gone through with it - the vast majority have before. There's clearly a group of us here that put effort in and our thankful for our gifts, it'll be a very dissapointing to lose that due to the selfishness of others.

Then again, there has been a lot of snow.
 
Wow. What a lot of moaning. Why the complaints about putting up pictures? Isn't the knowledge that you sent something interesting off to someone enough?

I foolishly didnt send my victims present recorded as I was skint when posting it :(

But, if they haven't received it, i'll happily get the present again and send it off again :)

I'm a man of my word I am :D

It's that people have pledged to send a gift in response to sending one. Not holding up on your end of the bargain is rather douchey to say the least. I'd also think it's polite to say thank you for recieving gifts.

The pictures aren't essential, but they are the best part of the fun. The photo of the herpes was hillarious.

Funny you should ask mate. I dropped my housemate off at Stansted Airport earlier this week and little did he know what I had in store.
Just as we pulled up outside the terminal... windows went down, stereo went on, volume up up UP and out came Rhinestone Cowboy courtesy of The Hoff himself :D

He jumped out pretty quick and off I went :cool:
 
I think people should give a bit more time before writing their presents off. I received a christmas card which was sent by my Aunt on the 1st December. It showed up 2 days ago, and had gone via SE Wales. My aunt lives 5mins up the road and I'm near Glasgow :confused:

Postal system is still a bit of a mess.

Exactly, the photos are the the best bits, it's not so much the not receiving a gift, I suppose you could just about forgive that due to the bad weather we had, it's just the whole point of the SS is to share a bit of banter afterwards, thank people for your gift, show everyone else what they bought you, it's just cutting the fun in half if your recipient doesn't even bother to say thanks, or to post a few photos. Still, I'll be taking part again next year and I do hope that the people who've not bothered to give so much as a thanks, or the people who haven't even sent gifts out at all should be banned from taking part next year.
