***The Official Gran Turismo 5 Thread***

the Expert series one.. Pre '79(i think).. stupidly fast and expensive cars in there.. and I might have sold the cars that I could have used! :(

For A Spec I used Toyota 7 and Dodge Challenger
B Spec Toyota 7 both times

but you need the right setup and i cant remember what i used :( sorry.

It is known to be one of the hardest events in game... You need to make sure in the cote de zure circuit the ZJ racing car is 6th place or further back, otherwise he will get in front and you will never catch him.

small bit of advice, i hope you manage it :) check out Gtplanet.net for all the tips you need - thats what helped me

Come to the conclusion I won't bother with the nascar seasonal, after a few tries all I managed todo was become monumentally ****** off and my best result was 9th.

Even the ST race was at least partially fun :p

Off to try the Mustang one now :D

did you try extending the gearing for the straight and applying some more downforce?

Yup, even with skid recovery on as soon as a wheel touchs grass it fishtails and loses all progress gained, steering is rather vague as well with downforce set high.

Rather leave the nurburgring for a more sensible car so I enjoy it rather than end up hating it.

Just had to do my 1st engine overhaul ever, on the Formula GT after my B Spec drivers took it over 5000 miles !!
Max 936bhp, went down to 915bhp even after oil changes. Realised that 500k had to be spent to get it back running at full spec again.
Grinding Indy 500 B Spec not doing it any favours tho ;)

You think that's bad? My 2nd X2010 has done 16000miles  In 4 days  Thankfully all of that is B-Spec, my A-Spec X2010 has less than 500 miles on it :p

I hate you X2010 owners ;)

In other news, anyone want to give me a quick overview of the 2nd set of Bonus Races and which ones are easy to Gold quickly. Spent too long last night on the Mini one to enjoy just getting 2nd all the time

ps3ud0

In order of ease for me at least:

Mini, Mustang, RX7, ST (There all done) then the nascar which I gave up on.

Started 24hr Le mans B-Spec with X2010 :D

i will be joining you in 2 days :)

also on other news

9 hours at tsubuka in x 2010 1 hour 46 minutes in and already 47 laps ahead lapping at around 33-37 seconds :)

Has anyone tried blocking the entry to the pit lane on endurance races during A spec wondering if there are some nifty ways to cheat around 8 hours of the tsubuka race lol

If it rains (I've done it twice and it's rained twice, don't worry they pit to change tyres) switch to the cockpit view - it has no windscreen wiper and you can't see a thing  :D

I also found you got into trouble with them pitting at 10% strength where they'd pit every lap, so don't select that, not that you won't win anyway, I'm usually 30% faster than the rest of the field and pitting every lap won't change that :p
