Actually, I've changed my mind. I'm very cross I posted in a very clearly labelled thread that said would ban me if I posted. I can't believe the mods would do that. I can't believe I lost 24 whole hours ability to post. Some mods needs to think a bit clearer next time because this isn't a joke. I bring a lot to this forum and I think it owes me better than this.

im all for a bit of fun and stuff really i am, but it seem to me that dons / mods on these forums can do what ever they please at times.
threads get closed because THEY dont like them, people get ( real ) suspended for stuff that others seem to get away with, im told that " we try and be fair with everyone" lol ok, and tbh the OP that we are taking about was a daft idea, it is a total misuse of power,
oh look i can ban, so if you post below me i will ban you, people are obviously going to try it because they thought it was a joke ( not to be taken with a full on ban ) even tho they have been lifted.
im just saying...daft idea

I missed the thread myself, because, you know i had places outside of overclockers to be but surely there is nothing to complain about here. By posting you were asking for a ban and the mods delivered, seems reasonable to me.
I will try now see if it works. Gilly could you ban me for 24h, I need to get some work done without the OCUK distraction. Thanks
I can't speak for what it's like on these forums, but moderating a forum with a lot of people can be mind numbingly boring. You've got to trawl through every thread reading every banal post from even the most crackpot member just to make sure nobody is crossing a line, day after day. When that happens people are always going to look for a little mischief to lighten the mood.
The thread wasn't a daft abuse of power, it was someone having a little giggle. Other people joined in an also had a little fun, knowing full well what would happen.
If you stopped stuff like that this place would lose a lot of the character it has.
This thread is quite funny! Its not as if everyone was banned en-masse. The people were banned as they posted, so surely you could clearly see that fact that the people posting were getting banned?

Trouble is you're mistaking this forum for a democracy and an environment that is built on your rules.
It's not, given the mix of characters here OCUK is incredably popular and well moderated. On more than a few forums you'd already have earned a holiday for attacking the mods and the fact you haven't kinda illustrates your whole argument is erroneous.
It's an internet forum, not real life, just accept it for what it is and enjoy it or use/set up somewhere that better reflects your needs /shrug.
This whole thread screams "mountain, mole hill".
There should be more of this, especially in hot spots like GD and Motors

I still do it and people have a chuckle but only with members I know better. I keep away from the more "sensitive" members who like to excessively scrutinise what the mod team does just to make a point if ever we slip up.

I still remember chuckling at the Bill & Ted day on the forums.
I do rather enjoy the "post in here and get banned" threads, purely for the reactions - you'd think that doing a certain action then it leading to consequence would be fairly obvious but every time people still seem to be surprised about the results. It's not as if Gilly doesn't have a history of banning everyone in those threads - people have fair warning, anyone posting in the thread can and will be banned unless they're a Don or above. Rocket surgery this is not.

I was beginning to get worried that the ban may become permanentas I tried logging in many times but couldn't plus I had some item for sale and wanted to know what was the status. Never gonna post in such threads again lol
