HTC Desire HD (Ace)

HTC Sense 2.0 bloatware at its finest :)

One of the reasons why I never got a DesireHD and I keep my trusty Desire, the Sense software on the Desire is just right. Adds missing features that stock Android doesn't have but doesn't add all this HTC bloat that doesn't really work that well.
You can just disable it... The HD is leagues ahead of the Desire :p What were the other reasons?

I'm running HTC Sense 2.0 on my Desire (not HD) and I actually prefer it, it's quicker than the older Sense ROM I was running, but not sure if that is entirely due to Sense 2.0 or the particular ROM I'm using. I've noticed no bloat at all - I find the word 'bloat' is vastly overused on these forums when it comes to Android.

How is it leagues ahead? I prefer a smaller screen for my phone(I have a Galaxy Tab as well) and using an Sense 2.0 ROM on my Desire I can't see any reason I'd want to go to an HD personally. They are good for different reasons, for example I prefer my AMOLED display and smaller size, but some people would want a larger screen. Leagues ahead though? Nah.

Ignoring the larger screen it still has 10x as much internal memory for apps, more ram, faster ram, GPU which is ~twice as fast, 4 point multitouch that actually works, better camera, better camera software, skinnable without rooting.

It really is.

Apart from the camera I can honestly say that none of those a. can't be fixed with a better Desire ROM (space, camera software, skinning) or b. wouldn't personally affect me (GPU, faster RAM). The Desire AMOLED screen, size and community is a big bonus for me though. I'm no phone zealot - I get my handsets for free with no contract to worry about and I've not bothered getting a Desire HD as I really do prefer my Desire. :)

Not wanting to bother with a tab or a personal laptop for train journies etc., the HD is the phone for me. Otherwise, if it were available, I'd probably have happily 'settled' for an AMOLED Desire.

Any way of taking screenshots whilst temproot doesn't work with the latest OTA update? I wouldn't even want to root if screenshots were possible without it!

I'm guessing I might have to go down the SDK route.

I'm about to try the same thing, with the SDK, later today. Off to PC World for a USB cable now...

-edit-
So PC World don't stock them. Off to phone shops...

Why is my phone telling me that I have downloaded a system update but it can't be installed as my battery is too low, yet it is on the charger.
