Stem is only 122g, I don't think I'd want to lose 80g from it :D. Cutting the steerer lost 25g, plus a few for the spacers, changed the bars to a similar model I'm about to buy lost another 10g. Change in grips added that all back on though I think :D

The Ardent certainly isn't light, but I might swap it to one of the 2.35 Rampages I've got spare which need using up while I'm riding it rigid to gain some extra cush.

Just started using my bike again, having not used it for more than 2 years. After a visit to Cannock Chase in late November, regretting leaving it for so long now and can't wait for some better weather. Riding Sherwood Pines tomorrow morning which is fairly local, not tried it before but hoping it's similar to Cannack.

Anyway thought i'd post a pic of my Commencal Combi Disc (I think it's a 2005 model, just trying to remember when i brought it)

Needs a lot of parts replacing/upgrading i think because it was left for so long in a cold damp shed. But i'll get it all sorted before the summer months arrive...hopefully.

Nice tyres and rims! I fail to get why manufacturers put cables on the downtube of mountain bikes :(

Thanks,

I buckled the rear rim of my original wheels when i misjudged jumping up a kerb. So went for the Mavic 729's front and rear, bit heavier but a lot stronger than the originals.

The tyres were purchased because i was doing a lot of commuting on it and wanted something with less rolling resistance. But they work pretty good on everything i've used them on thus far.

Had the turbo trainer out this evening to warm the legs back up, really don't like riding the bike when the roads are covered in salt. I need to get some of this stored energy burnt off!

Went for a ride round Guisborough woods/Pinchinthorpe on Sunday morning, bloody cold it was too! All the snow & ice had melted at home but it was still deep in places and even snowed a bit while we were there, it's only ~15 miles from home! Shame as it made some of it pretty unrideable. Anyway, took a couple of quick piccys;

Had mine out for first time tonight after massive slacking over festive period and snowy weather. Suffered so much. I'm relatively new to cycling and overweight anyway but thought I was going to cough up m lungs :P

Shorts when its -10c is mental. You're all right as long as you keep moving, but what happens if you have to stop? You're very quickly going to get very cold..
