A nifty trick if you fancy an extended holiday at the end of April next year!!

Though i'd be interested to know how many days holiday people get with companies that don't include bank holidays in their contracted figures.

I get 25 days Holiday plus all the public holidays.

I also get 5 paid emergency holidays that i can take with no notice.

Bugger being in the Military I cant wangle this. I get 30 days a year and thats it. Although that means I only actually work 5 months of the year so not too bad. Shame this was not next year when I will be out....

Woot - 11.5days absent from work for 3 day annual leave! Might even book Maundy Thursday AM off on flexi for 12 days away from the office!

Thursday - Maundy Thursday - half a day.
Friday - April 22nd - Bank Holiday
Saturday - Off
Sunday - Off
Monday - April 25th - Bank Holiday
Tuesday - A/Leave
Wednesday - A/Leave
Thursday - A/Leave
Friday - April 29th - Bank Holiday
Saturday - Off
Sunday - Off
Monday - May 2nd - Bank Holiday.

Bank holidays and weekends mean nothing in my job unfortunately. No choice in the matter if rota'd onto a bank holiday, and not even 1.5x pay lol.

I'd like to moan about it, but it does make sense. If I owned a business, why the hell would I want to shut down for a random day in the middle of the year and lose money.

You get a day off in lieu to use at a later date though don't you?

The week before I'm on night support (dont go in the office in the day and sort out ooh issues thru the night) I shall be covering Good friday but will get 2 lieu days for it, get a lieu day for the BH monday, tuesday is Day Off, wed/thurs I will use 2 lieu days and then friday is another BH for the wedding. 17 days without setting foot in the office and i get an extra lieu day as well!

Isn't the 29th going to be a bank holiday as well now for the royal wedding, no sure but I thought I heard something..

Yep so you only need 3 days off if you're not rota'd for shift on bank holidays/weekends. ;)

Booked this a few weeks ago as the usual holiday spammers were all off for Christmas :D
Soon as people started coming back into the office, they started booking it as well.

It's nice for once to get the breaks with holidays - we have a couple of women who seem to have an infinite amount of holiday that is booked miles in advance, just when you want to go :(

I did have a plan to go away for at least part of it - to Las Vegas for a stag do no less! Unfortunately, that seems to have fallen through, so it'll be somewhere in Spain by the sounds of it. Shame, was well up for a Vegas stag do :(
