As you've got 5 years why not save up more money?

£100 a month and you've got £8000 to spend ;)

Not gonna happen with mortgage and other spends, the 2k wont bother me that much. I could do but something now, just got a lot on with house move and near the end of a part time degree.

It could be next year for my little hobby car, im just giving myself some space.

If you cant save £100 a month can you afford to play around with a V8 engined car?

yes. Don't worry about my financial situation, just worry about recommending the correct car!

Seen V8 CLK's for over £5k. Maybe cheaper in the future...

It's a bit difficult not to say 'lol' when in one post you claim you couldnt afford to save £100 a month yet in another you consider a V8 Mercedes CLK.

This entire thread is hilarious, frankly.

If you've got the disposable cash to play with that sort of car, you've got the disposable cash to save 100 quid a month towards it before buying it surely?

Sometime in the future, within the next 5 years I would like to get a small weekend car with a great sounding engine and fun to drive. ie a V8.

With a relatively small budget, say £2k, what cars would be available?

The plan would be to slowly repair it and "do it up". It does'nt need to be purchased in A1 condition, because it would be a hobby slowly fixing it up.

Anyway...what would be a great sounding, small hobby car?

Does this mean you are 12 years old and hope to have a weekend car aged 17?

yeah i have to be honest but it just gets blown on other stuff...whisky and cigars lets say! "lol"

Come on Fox (whats your real name btw?) your meant to be the oricle of car suggestion, what about some classics?

So if you cant put £100 into a car pot every month because it gets 'blown' how is it suddenly not going to get blown once you've bought it?

what about some classics?

I know very little about classics. Triumph of some sort?

The wife would kill me if i sneek £100 away every month for a car! She wants to go Australia every year!

And she wont kill you if you bury more than £100 every month in a V8 CLK on the drive?

hmmm i see your point...but women..there a different species!

Instead of other interests the money would go into the car instead of new gizmo's. So outgoings as such shouldnt change.
Where talking about a budget rip that can get turned around over a few months.

It always amazes me how Fox seems to help so many people with advice, do people not think about things before posting threads like this?

Fox, you need to be a financial advisor.

Corvette ZR1.

With fuel going up and the economic crisis V8 engined cars are going to plummet like witch in a lake!

Fox does give good advice, it's just how he gives it which annoys me at times. It's like he has BF's before he posts every reply. Love it.:p
