Kittens

Frozo,

Our kittens were £380 each for the traditional and £450 for the modern (although his very good 'stock' apparently!)..

We originally chose a Siamese for the personality, my parents had all sorts of mog's and some pedigree cats when I was growing up and the Siamese by far are the most intelligent, friendly and individual.. We got one initially but brought a 2nd because on his own Riley was a walking home destroying machine! with two they played with each other rather than my curtains! I think once you have one they are pretty addictive as well... the g/f would certainly buy another if we weren't expecting a baby shortly!

They are loud! and will 'talk' to you (all the time!) having different meows / squeaks for different things.. They are very cleaver; ours will sit, stay, fetch, open doors and generally investigate anything and everything.. they do need a lot of stimulation or you could end up with a destroyed home.. Even though ours are now 2/3 years old they spend 3 - 4 hours a day 'playing' chase with each other or hunting toys (or feet!) and generally charging around like nutters..

Aha They sound really fun :p Really really want to get one but I shouldn't say this but my Dad is being a complete nob :/ He now doesn't want to go to my cousins house so we aren't going :( Won't get to see her Kittens, Fingers crossed I can get a job and will find a local Siamese Kitten and be able to purchase it without him being there as he hardly ever does anything with me anyway apart from winge and moan

HOLY ****! £450! i thought you could get 900 cats for that. I'm stupid i know but what makes them so expencive?

I've found a couple for £180 but they must be bad quality (sounds weird for a cat) and I have sent like 5 or 6 emails out asking people for different prices and most people have come back to me saying £300 to £400 but they come with ", fully vaccinated, with 4 weeks insurance, house trained and registered with the Gccf" Or that's what one of them came with and the Kitten was 7 weeks old

WOOP Mum just phone up someone who emailed me and we are collecting 2 Kittens, 1 is B+W and the other looks like a Tiger apparently :p Picking them up around 7ish :D Pics will follow

Good to hear that your search is over. Just get them home safely and post those pictures. :)

basically you are paying for the pedigree.. i.e. the cat has a traceable history is not inbreed etc etc.. Winston (£450 one) has grand - champion relatives going back 30 years so he is very good show quality (if we wanted to show him).. but to be honest we got him because we know the breeder... Typically you get a pedigree kitten at 12 weeks so they have had both sets of vaccination, come with insurance, microchip etc..

In most agreements you agree to have the kitten neutered / spade and therefore can not breed them.. certainly if you wanted to breed then you would pay a lot more than £450!

Dad's home and he is not happy about the idea of 2 :p so we are going to have to break the news that we can only have one :/

Looking forward to pictures! Please don't lock them up in a carrier cage over night though. Just leave them both in a room with the door closed with food water and a place to do their business!

It / They would be in the living room over night or if we only get 1 it would be in my room, they are 4 months old so will probably be to big for a carrier

If you had the choice of 2 would you go for 2 or 1? (this is to everyone)
