Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2

I use the Freezer 7 pro rev 2. Back when I first put it on I was getting high 40s on idle and mid to high 50s on load (From what I remember, this was with a basic 2.8ghz to 3.1ghz overclock)

I've seen worse performing coolers, but have nothing to compare it to personally.

Ok thanks. My current idle is about mid 40's, but I'm in a warm room, my case isn't the best for cooling and my cpu cooler probably has a fair amount of dust on it which I plan on sorting out tomorrow.

Perhaps it could be worth investing in a Corsair H50 and a couple of fans for a push pull setup on the radiator. That'll really drop your temps.

I dont think I've ever had exceptionally good temperatures in a warm room, but mid 40s on idle really isn't a bad temperature, definitely not something to worry about. Maybe clean the dust out and use some MX3 thermal paste. Just been reading up on it, and it's apparently very good. Going to be trying some of it out myself soon.

I would invest in one but I don't have the money at the moment which is why I was looking at the CPU cooler mentioned above, my PC isn't fantastic and I don't play games that often I just thought it may be worth getting a new CPU cooler.

Yeah for the sake of £20 the Arctic Freezer Pro is definitely worth it, will give you better temps than stock cooler & allow low-moderate overclocking. It is a budget cooler but fantastic value IMO.

I've had two of the Freezer pro's, original and rev2, both are great coolers for the money, however if you plan on overclocking your CPU, the Freezer pro doesn't handle well above 3.2GHz.

If you have an overclock higher than that, try the Arctic Cooling Freezer 13, the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus CPU Cooler or the Gelid Tranquillo CPU Cooler, all under £27 without delivery. What is your budget btw?

Thanks, my budget is about the same price as the cooler, I just thought about getting it as something else I order got canceled due to no stock so I had spare money.

I think I may get it, I don't overclock and my CPU is duo at 3.00GHz

The Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2 should have no problems keeping that chip cool at 3GHz, it's easy to fit too, no need to take the mobo out as it's just push pins, just make sure clip the fan back on fully.

the coolermaster hyper 212 plus is a much better cooler than the freezer 13 and a lot cheaper, its only a quid more than the freezer 7 pro and cannot be beaten for the money.

I quite like the looks of that coolermaster too.

The direct contact heat pipes are a nice touch, i wonder if that is what makes them better.

Also might be noted that MX3 paste would better any of these coolers still, right?
