Fell off my bike this morning

5.45am this morning about 50 meters from work there was a patch of black ice on the road, I fell off ! Ouch , Was taken to A & E. Had an X-ray which showed i had dislocated my right shoulder. What a start to the new year.

Could have been way worse.

Dislocated shoulders are easy to fix.

I took it as that too.

"Push" bike? very unlucky you managed to injure yourself.

And TBH if a push bike can't ride on the road due to the weather then it's probably best if only those with 4x4 cars were allowed on the road at that time.

did this on tuesday myself (on my bicycle), was going very slowly around a corner, massive graze on my arms and various bruises...

I still suffer with my partial dislocation 5 years after doing it! A full dislocation could be even more problematic depending on how much tendon damage has occured.

It's bloody painful, the rehab is probably more painful as the shoulder is so tender. Fortunately I didn't suffer too much tearing, but just coughing and moving caused sharp pangs of pain - a bit like breaking a rib actually.

Nasty start to the year Steve - having dislocated mine I can empathise, horrendously painful.

So have you had it pulled / popped back in? My dad did his a few years ago, and was whacked on morphine with two doctors (or male nurses, or porters or whatever) heaving on it, trying to get it back in
