*****Ultimate Football Manager 11*****

Right after an afternoon if fiddling about iv come to the conclusion that its going to take half a season to fix my team and maybe just maybe stay up (need results but they are going to be hard fought when brum are the new man city)

Real thing is has anyone else far in the future noticed that some teams have just broken completely?? I was really amused to see Pompy fall to league 2 (over paying all sorts too) but other teams like Southampton (my real life team) just fall apart and have gotten rid of ALL of the squad this season  same thing has happened to Walsall and a few other teams with no real explanation...

How good is Chamakh!! He just scored a hat-trick against Liverpool in the League Cup Final! And scored 2 against Standard in the first leg of the Champions League knock out 4 days earlier!

20 goals so far this season from 24 appearances & 5 sub appearances. He's an absolute beast attack the back post as well!

Post up your team and your last load of results mate?

Alt & F9 to screenshot. :)

Here's my team, already over budget on the wage front and didnt really get a decent striker in, but there's some quality there (and some good regens) and a few players at the bottom all out (and not really worth talking about for a season or two)

My form is getting better, bummed about just loosing to sunderland as it should have been a draw, but the city 1-1 was an awesome game! The main games are against Wolves and Leicester (who im ground sharing with so are now my biggest rivals, well in my view anyway)

Oh and as this would only happen in fm...

:D

The only other thing I might do is take up the saints job! Though they will be bottom of L1 so that might be for a new game completely...

Chamakh is a tank, but not more than a goal every other game performance wise on mine, still quality though!

Is your formation just the generic 4-4-2? Are you doing any match prep?

I would have a look at your formation, because you should be able to beat Wolves and Leicester and other teams like that with a decent formation with that team.

I've been playing a 4-4-2 formation with the wingers pushed up to inside forwards. CMs set as deep lying playmakers set to defend. Because they have the 4 players in front of them they won't be getting forward all the time, but will be packing the middle when it's needed. Obviously you're fullbacks are not attacking ones so change their duty to defend.

If you have a look at this tactic and play around with it you should be able to survive quite easily.

You should be able to get more goals from corners, if you set up with you're best header/jumper attacking the far post. Corners obviously aimed at the far post.

Make sure you bring on subs when they are needed in the second half. 70 or so mins in is ideal to make a change because the AI will start to hammer you hard so refreshing your defence or midfield is a good idea if you're drawing or winning. :)

Oh and forget about the cups, concentrate on the League. :p

In other news I'm about to play Barcelona in the 1st leg of Champions League quarter final and Chamakh, Fabregas and Sanchez are all suspended! :( This could be fun.

My players are knackered, roll on the last game of the season !

Won the League Cup and currently second :D

Its all about the little things.... A 1-0 away at Wolves to take me 18th is just like winning the league cup :D

Also what's it like managing the u21's?? Shearer (my best FM friend) has just offered it to me as England manager

Right I was playing 4-1-2-1-2 (an anchor man, 2 wingers and a play maker) but after preseason I went to basically the same thing but normal 4-4-2 shape, still with the advanced playmaker in the middle of the park (not the best right now but he'll do) and a central mid to defend. It relies too much on decent wingers to make the play and I only have Delph and the regen Vampeta who can cut it really...

Im going to have a bash at setting up the corners properly as Bikey and Williams are both pretty good at scoring form them (Bikey got 7 last season and Williams has scored 20 odd over the last 3 and a bit seasons for me which is weird!)

Cup's seem to be blind luck (dont want to be in the league cup but Amos had an awesome day out before getting a hernia) and seem to help with fitness more than anything else :)

Wolves I just beat 1-0  (lots of defensive play as my pre-match stuff has been set to sort out) should beat Leicester too at the away (well home too for now) game....

The prem is a bit harder than FM10... :p (or not having saints is anyway)

can someone elt me know how good Witsel gets?

I just got him third season and so far hes been very poor. I dont know where play him.

Van der vaart is my AMC and Rodwell is my DMC

Ohhh!!! :( Aurier got a second yellow on 70mins. Fulham at home and then the away leg. They're going to be mine! :)

Azza im playing as hearts does this sound pretty resonable for a 4-2-4 my midfielders are set as Ball Winning Midfielder(Support) and Deep lying playmaker(Support) and 2 wingers are inside forwards(attack) with a deep lying forward(support) and Poacher.

I would have two poachers up front to be honest. In the tactic I linked above poachers seem to work great because your inside forwards and midfielders will slip the pass through to them, get them into the box more. Any body can be poachers really but if you have a striker who is more suited to being a support player then that work fine with a poacher.

Just beat Fulham 7-3, Chamakh come on at half time to score a hat-trick and get 2 assists! :D Bring on Barca!!!

Like I said, they were mine! :D Chamakh being immense once again!

He's scored 30 goals so far this season in all competitions now. Got Chelsea in the semi-final.

Any way I've done the double, with 2 league games left of the season. Was getting pretty close with City. Will post full stuff when it's all done. Got City in the FA Cup and got Lyon in the Champions League final. Lets hope I can get the Quadruple! :D
