Terror Threat

This.

Maybe our government should start giving us more rights and responsibilities to help protect ourselves.

how on earth would you stop a suicide bomber exactly ? i know there isn't much chance you will come across one but in your mind that chance seems higher :p

I watch some tv at lunch time at work for the first time yesterday in months. I put bbc news on and they were talking about terrorist threats and going on about flu epidemics, they had someone getting vaccinated on loop. Showing the needle going in. Then they went on speculating about the kind of attacks that we could get etc. I couldn't take the propaganda so i switched to skynews and it was running the exact same stories. So i switched to russia today and wow, they actually had some news. They were talkin about three ships that were stuck in ice with 400 people stuck on it, then they were talking about the building up of rubbish in new york city and asking people what they thought about it. I couldn't believe, actual news.

western news is despicable propaganda, the worst kind. DRIVEL!

I have wondered though, as the majority of our police are not armed, how many people could potentially get killed before an armed team is even sent in?
Just look at Derrick Bird, quite a few, however that's a remote location, in central london I would imagine armed police could be on the scene in minutes.

I have to go through London tomorrow, I am currently fearing for my life.

theres more chance of you slipping on a banana skin and falling down an open manhole all the way down to the earth's core than a "terrorist" incident happening.

It's a big joke m8 i would not give them the satisfaction of it interupting your day :)

Yes I agree. I was at the Mall in Bristol and I thoguht about it whils't I was there. Bristol isn't really classed as a major city if comparing to London and The Mall is a fair distance from the centre.

I would have thought a multiple washington sniper esque attack would be more problematic than just some people running around with AK's.

But hey, lets just throw even more police officers into the equation, creating a really nice police state. Withhold the right of individuals to protect themselves and keep everyone in a nice state of panic. Sheep are easier to control after all.

I'd say we're almost at the police state stage already.

Yep we are almost there with all the restrictions / law changes.

Noticed the police passing through Liverpool Street Station today. They had a few beefy ones walking around instead of the usual PSCOs.

Real terrorists could do a lot of things to terrorise our nation if they really wanted to and it would be impossible for our intelligence agencies to stop it pre-emptively, the Washington snipers or Raule Moat are perfect examples and if they really wanted to terrorise us then major sporting events would be a good start. There must be some unwritten rule that these Muslim terrorists can only use bombs as weapons and even then only on public transport.

Aside from 9/11 & 7/7 which are the foundations of the "War on Terror" all we have really seen since is a few mindless lone extremists with DIY bombs who are upset that we are waging war in two muslim countries (one of which we made up a story about WMD to go into).
