2x HIS HD 6950

It might be worth uninstalling the drivers, running driver sweeper and reinstalling.

I only have one 6950 flashed and run black ops at 1920x1080 maxed out and it copes perfectly. There are no issues or slow down so with 2 on a lower res you should be steaming along.

One definitely is. I cannot see the colour of the other one but I'm 95% sure it is in the blue PCIx slot.

Actually, I just looked at an image of my motherboard, from the net, with nothing in it and I can definitely say they are both in the blue x16 slots. I will check the BIOS setup and see if there's anything out of place to do with the PCIx settings.

I am just about to do this now.

Also have a look through this thread.

Should give you a good idea of what to expect figures wise for Heaven. Note that most people run with no AA so best to do that and see how it matches up (I just noticed yours were on 8xaa).

I had the same with my old xfire set, i had the edit the reg, search for enable upls then i had to change 1 to 0 or 0 to 1 cant remember off hand im not home at the mo but ccc will then show second card idle temp and fan speed after rebooting, if you google for it you will get better instructions

Not a major issue at the moment. Good to know though thanks.

I'm running Black Ops on 1680 x 1050, 8x AA, Full Anisotropic, Texture Quality: Extra

What about you?

Can't believe two of the latest cards can go as low as 20FPS even after I re-installed the drivers.

Your drivers are not the same as mine.
I am on 10.12a and they work well with all the games I play.
To be honest I am too afraid to change them at the moment :)

Best bet is start over again, try both cards on there own to see if there ok, then i would uninstall the drivers and run driver sweeper, then install 10.12a with one card, power down and fit the second card enable xfire and reboot and hopfully it should be working as it shluld

Ok, so yous would consider my readings so far is that I am having some kind of issue?

I will do that old gamer, where can I get the v10.12a of the Catalyst drivers?

Tried both cards individually. Both were getting 45-60 FPS on their own. Put both of them in, enabled CrossFire, started Black Ops and FPS can drop as low as 20.

I am using driver v10.12a

What could be wrong? I have a decent enough ThermalTake750W PSU. I presume this is enough? I am using 3x 6pin power connectors and one 4-to-6 pin power adapter that came with one of the cards as I only have the 3x 6pin power cables on my PSU.

Motherboard has 2x PCI 2.0 slots.

I am going to run the Heaven benchmark again and see if I get any better results :(

With v sync on black ops is capped at 60 fps so might be best to try some other games, out of intrest try black ops with v sync off should get 91 fps

ok I'll give that a go, thanks.

here's the Heaven benchmark results, nothing fancy turned on:
