Talking with my mate about "Masons" and was wondering if anyone knows anything about them?

Google doesnt seem to turn up much apart from people calling them satanic and stuff, but yeah, just interested in whats going on :)

What would you like to know?

I work for a Masonic charity in Australia, apart from planning world domination we also run aged care facilities and provide grants to people in need.

Nothing more than a glorified social club with a few odd traditions, to be honest in the UK at least they do a lot of good charity work, in yanksville they are a bit more extreme but still not the forefront of the new world order

I'm a Freemason.

What do ou want to know? Fire some questions at me.

Freemason in 'I'll tell you all our dirty little secrets' shocker. Won't that get you hung, drawn and quartered or some other nonsense that is outlined in you joining rituals?

In Western Scotland, Freemasonry and the Orange Order go hand in hand so you'll forgive me if I look on your organisation with a skeptical eye.

I always thought it asa a mix of an old fashioned "linked in" and a soacial club.

Ie Bob the freemason runs a construction company and needs some extra plumbers so asks in the club and gets introduced to dave who happens to be a plumbing contractor and is also a member they talk about the job other members recommend him and bob contracts him if he's suitable sort of thing.

Not at all - we're not a secret organisation, we're an organisation with secrets.

I never said I'd tell the secrets, simply that I'd answer questions.

Being a mainly protestant political order - the Orange order is totally unconnected with Free masonry - Freemasonry does not adhere to any political organisationa, other than supporting the current correctly elected government of the moment and Freemasonry accepts members from all faiths.

Of course, it's quite likely that a lot of members of the Orange Order are also Freemasons but to state they are linked is like saying Freemasonry is a Christian organisation just because it has a lot of Christians as members.
