Alex that looks really nice on the wall :)

Demoniser, when looking for frames make sure they are 20x16 and not 500x400mm or "approximate", I ended up getting the frames from a proper framer on one of our markets after ending up with 2 clip frames that didn't fit (different brands from different stores) and nearly buying another 3 or 4 frames from non specialist shops before spotting the "approximate" note (20x16 is about 506x404mm, the "approximate frames varied from under 500x400 to just on the 500x400 mark).
At one point I was wandering round with a small tape measure in my pocket:p

Basically get the frame from someone who can guarantee the size is in imperial.
The guy I got mine from also recommended picture cord rather than wire, as apparently the wire that a lot of places sell to hang pictures isn't as strong/reliable as the cord (something I had noticed myself).
It sounds like you were fairly lucky as some people wouldn't bother to have dropped it round (RM seem to be having problems - I think they are using a lot of temp staff and managers as they seem to have a backlog still).
I'm hoping my TRSI orders come through fine, as I've got two lithographs and two DVD orders in the post, and so far RM seem to be all over the place with deliveries (I've just had this weeks RT arrive 5 days after it's issue date, along with next weeks, and several of my other orders from retailers have been hit and miss).

On the topic of actually watching stuff, I finished Suzuka earlier which was a nice ending to the series :)
I'm going to try and start on Cyberteam in Akihara tonight or tomorrow depending on how I feel (I've got a "sleep pattern" back for the first time in months, unfortunately it's meaning I'm barely getting any time to watch anime).

The only mistake I made was getting a little overzealous with the staple gun around the sides as well as rear to make sure everything was stretched as nicely and as evenly as can be (which in hindsight was a little unnecessary as it would likely have been fine without), so I need to grab some tipex and make some staples stand out a little less haha (silver/grey vs white tends to stand out in some lighting)
It's not like you even see them most of the time, so not a major issue until i can fix it.

That said its the first time I've ever framed anything, let alone a canvas, so Im just glad it came out OK.

Following my completion of Amigami, given my love of all things supernatural/vampiric, I'm taking a look at Fortune Arterial. I'm not expecting much from it, but should make a nice, less-serious stopgap before I watch Shiki in the near future. Got several supernatural series to watch now including Ghost Hunt and Shana so probably going to have fun over the coming weeks and months, especially as I'm not going to watch any of the shows airing this season til they've finished. :)

Yeah i'll be carrying a tape measure of my own when i get up town to look for a decent frame :p cheers for the info. Learnt after the fact that apparently the reverse has happened before, and we've had their post delivered to us, which was lucky. I can understand rm/couriers delivering a parcel to the wrong number, 8 instead of 9 for instance, but when the street name is different, makes me chuckle.

Need to find a good spot to put it up now..

Both Ghost Hunt and Shana are pretty good (at least the first season for the latter, I haven't got around to watching the other releases). I watched the first 4-5 episodes of Fortune Arterial before dropping behind and consigning it to the backlog and both Ghost Hunt and Shana are a lot better than it (particularly the latter).

Werewolf ... wire ... cord ... I think half of my pictures aren't hung with such fancy things ... it's normally whatever I can find, (there's a least three pictures around that if you looked at the back you'd find bright blue garden twine!) :)

Re-watching KimiKiss Pure Rouge at the moment on the Sentai DVD release. Silly, soppy relationship stuff :)

Haha, my canvas is perched simply by the frame hanging off some pins hammered into the wall, nothing so funky as cord/wire :D

@memyselfandi

You're right, even only a few episodes in I'm not expecting a huge amount of FA, its just a change of pace show in between watching other stronger series.
Got a few bits of supernatural-esque lined up, Shana, Shiki, Ghost Hunt, Chevalier D'Eon... and then other fantasy stuff like FMA:B (my brother is livid the series isn't all going to be released here in BR as he's got Disc1 already in that format as hes a massive fan of the series), Beserk and Basilisk. The problem is because I want to do them justice, Im often quite reluctant to start longer series because I want to invest the time they deserve to get the best out of them, so they end up sitting around. Maison Ikkoku is another show I want to check out, because I've heard its one of the best progenitors of today's rom/com/drama anime branch, but at 96 episodes....its likely going to take me a while before I brave up to watching it, and may well end up getting watched in segments.
Fancy watching Beck again as well in the near future, but my mates borrowed the discs so that at least takes that choice out of my hands!

I have to admit that whilst Maison Ikkoku is supposed to be a classic, and I do have the full set on DVD, I've never actually made it past the first couple of disks ... I did find it a bit heavy going to be honest. I'll give it another go at some point when I get around to it. I know what you mean about long series though. I have a couple of other 50+ ones in my backlog and it's working up to watching sometihng that long which is the problem.

Just reading elsewhere that the Summer Wars / The Girl Who Leapt Through Time double pack out at the end of March on BD is basically the normal release of both films just bundled together, (and initially at least the TGWLTT will not be available on BD separately from this).

It's also interesting that one of the frequently bought together things with it is 5 centimetres per second on BD ...

I think i've got 5cm per second on pre order but wasn't there some confusion over whether we'd actually get it or not on blu.

Good news about the double pack though :D (had that on order since it first went up I think).

That's what I'd heard to ... but it is listed now with a classification and a ASIN number which I don't think it'd have if it was purely speculative.

I ordered the double pack straight away too but was will to re-order if it turned out that it was cut down in some way (less extras) than a singles release ... it's good that that is not the case :)

That's a good point, although they haven't got any cover art for it yet, but as you say for it to be listed with the asin and classification is a good sing :)

I think the E7 movie is also finally due out about then...assuming it doesn't get pushed back (again), I've had that on pre-order since May last year and it's been delayed about 4-6 times:)

Haha yeah I think my brother is grabbing that boxset ASAP too, I might have to borrow it...

Also finished Arterial this morning before work. It kinda felt... unfinished which one of the characters kind of lampshaded. It does get a bit better in later episodes compared to the ones you mentioned you saw andi. That said its never going to be a classic, but its light fun. I did like the fact it took a slightly harsher view on vampires in the sense that no matter what they may try vampires can and will drink blood, they have to. Yes its a little candycoated but still better than the twilight inspired mush around at the moment.
Also more fun than tsukihime.

:( I asked them via twitter ... it's rubbish, 5cm/s is out on 14th March on DVD only, no BD release.

I'll probably look it up at some point soon ... need to work through my Christmas anime and sci-fi books back log :)

Just finished watching Sentai's release of Kimikiss Pure Rouge. I last watched this series when it originally aired and liked it then ... and I still like it now. If you want giant mecha and fighting then don't watch it ... it's fairly simple relationship/light drama/slice of life stuff. There is a little humour but the series is mostly serious. The whole 24 episode series is basically a single plot arc and follows a collections of friends through a period of time in high school and covers the relationships, and in some cases love triangles, between them. Unlike some of the more modern series the raunchiest you get here is the odd kiss (normally after a lot of build up). You have most of the stereo-types covered; the childhood friend, the rich girl, the little sister, the sporty girl, the quiet shy girl and the intelligent loner along with several male characters for them (in some cases) to have relationships with. For most of the characters these are their first relationships so they are a tad unsure of what to do.

Whilst the series does not have alternate arcs like Amagami SS you do get a larger number of episodes for things to build up and characters to be shown ... although a few of the characters are still pretty 2D by the end. Most of the characters are pretty likeable. The series is a few years old now which shows in it's animation with the art not being as rich as something like Amagami ... it's still pretty reasonable though and I like the series' two EDs.

The collection also includes the OVA episode which is about one of the minor characters which is quite nice and reasonably amusing.

Overall I liked re-watching the series as it was a nice gently watch after a hectic week at work.

To be fair, I'd consider that a plus. Toradora! as an example left a much bigger impression on me by the end than Amigami. [In fact I'd say that it's one of my favourite anime, based on the impression it left on me.
Not sure I could do a top 3/5/10, but if I did a 10 it'd almost certainly be in there.[

That the entire story follows a set of characters and culminates in one pairing gives them so much more development time, that they can simply spend more time getting to know the characters and liking them. The problem with Omnibus and that vein is its often only the main character who really gets any development. Yeah it sucks if you don't like the main pairing in an anime where there is one final destination pair, but if thats the case, either find other reasons to like the show, or don't watch haha

Obviously, Maison Ikkoku's 96 episodes might be going a little far :D

bah i thought that was the case :(

I may see if Madman will be doing a blu- if so I might well order it and the next two FMA:B sets together.

Andarial hope you're feeling better soon, the flu sucks :(

That's the one good thing about Kimikiss ... whilst there is a main male character there is also a couple of others who are having relationships as well at the same time so it's not tied to down to a single pair.

sucks if it doesn't get a blu ray release.

I'd love to see a Shinkai Blu Ray collection tbh. It's a shame they don't do one.

Agreed, those films are really crying out for it ...

Just finished watching the first episode of Fractale.

It has a very ghibli like style to it, as has been suggested by other sources, and the main heroine and her flying vehicle she is introduced on, are similar to those found in Nausicaa.

The whole computer/data slant reminded me of an older series called Denno Coil (i still have to finish that somtime).

Could be interesting, but a slow start, as with many shows this season.
