Oh dear.

I hope it isn't a rejection of the transplant he had, he didn't seem to be putting weight back on as once discussed when he first revealed he had had the op.

:(

Well whatever it is I wish him well. Love him or hate him it would be a big loss to the tech world if he had to leave permanently.

In late 2008 to mid-2009 Mr Jobs was absent from Apple for six months to have a liver transplant.

It was part of the series of treatments he has undergone for pancreatic cancer. He was first diagnosed as suffering from the cancer in 2004 and underwent surgery later that year to remove a tumour from his pancreas.

Pancreatic cancer is really awful and having a live transplant is no small thing. I hope anyone with medical problems gets better, but he has such a large influence on technology we use day to day it would be a great shame to see him leave the sector.

is it only me who read this as a total non story then ?

hes having more time to rest but will still be doing a lot of his role from home/holiday/leave

Seems to me he wouldn't go in medical leave AND ask for privacy for his family unless it was something serious.

He would know how that would hit the stock so he must really need the leave.

This. :(

Get better soon Steve. :)

George Best had constant issues with his Liver transplant, hope it isn't similar rejection/other complications. Although I'm sure he doesn't drink like Best did.
