Do you drink alone?

very very rarely

I've done it twice tbh... had a shed load of project work on and was planning on working Saturday and Sunday - got the train back to my parents house in order to be away from London/distractions - bought some fish and chips and sat in front of the TV on Friday night with a beer & my takeaway. Got up on Saturday feeling relaxed and worked through the weekend.

Those are probably the only times I've ever had a beer when alone - I usually just drink when socialising.

Often would have a couple of cans on a Thursday evening. Never get sloshes alone though, and my wife rarely drinks at all

Having a couple of tinnies myself now, but i never get drunk on my own at home, only if there is a big family event or im off out/on the town :)

Yes I have to say I agree that it does seem a little bit of a shame/daft and odd to drink solely for the intention of getting drunk.

The thing is, if people only drink when out with friends then it seems to me that they are drinking to get drunk? Or they need it as some kind of drug to help socialise, especially with members of the opposite gender, or to temporarily improve their happiness. This I find pretty sad.

Yes, regularly. Both to 'unwind' (drink after a stressful day, or with dinner) and as something to do (this is when I get drunk alone). I'll usually be playing a computer game with others drinking. Does that make it as bad?

Do I see an issue with getting drunk alone? No.

Nothing wrong with having a drink and either having a mix or whacking on some music IMO. Never really get to the point where I'm hammered though, although it has been known to happen!

Not usually alone though, there is usually someone in the house that I can talk to if I want or I can talk on phone/online.

I prefer drinking (with or without friends) at home rather than out on the **** at least you can have a decent conversation!

I'm drinking on my own now, do it all the time. I like to have a few and play fps shooters online, after 4-5 cans i get really really good, then after that I get really drunk and just start annoying people.

I do occasionally drink alone to get drunk, but it technically I am not alone, as it is usually with mates on Vent gaming and we are all getting drunk.

Domt drink to get 'drunk', however I enjoy wine/beer/cider.

For example tonight, ITV1 HD, 50" TV, 5.1 Surround, few tins of strongbow + last bit of red wine = nice relaxing night whilst the missus is out working :)

Must say i'm surprised by the majority of these responses.

There has been plenty a time the Mrs has gone out and i have got wasted at home listening to music, gaming (until I loose co-ordination), then back to music again before crashing.
