Do you drink alone?

Yes, most weekends I'll sit in front of the PC and have a few cans to relax while playing a game. I certainly don't see an issue with being in the comfort and safety of your own home and having a few cans to chill.

Very rarely i drink a beer or two while watching a movie on my own..

But i see no reason or fun in siting in a room on your own getting drunk..why would anyone want to do this

I did when I had a bit of a problem with the drink. Dark times. Never again. I only drink when I'm out with friends or I'll have a G&T or a Margarita on a plane or airport bar by myself.

It's people who only see drinking as a social thing which is more troubling than those who drink alone at home. It implies you don't genuinely enjoy having a drink and are only doing it to fit in with the crowd, or at least are just doing it to get leathered.

Yes, the feeling of being drunk is always nice, and very occasionally I will purposely look to drink more than I want for that sake, but most of the time it's secondary to actually enjoying the drink you are consuming. I don't drink alone all the time as it's too expensive and unhealthy, but after an especially hard day at work, or when the football's on telly, there is nothing better than cracking open a bottle of real ale.

I drink alone all the time and i have been doing it for years. If i drink at home i will usually buy 2-4 beers. But on some weekends ill buy 6 for 5 sometimes ill buy 12-10 but then the problem is that, when i start drinking ill keep going till i pass out. So i buy 4 at a time to prevent that. But some times i will only buy 2 or 3. I am going to be alone anyway so it is not like i was with people then i went purposefully by myself and started drinking. If i go out after work and drink then i might grab one or two beers on the way home. depends.

Yes, wine with dinner or Port with cheese or a snifter of Brandy etc. Only drink for taste and enjoyment rather than the social aspect or to get drunk, so do it a lot. It's also a great way to unwind from a long shift/week or whatever. The girlfriend very rarely drinks so it's usually just me.

am doing now, few cans of export watching the footie, usually ona wednesday would be at the working mens club playing snooker, but due to being up at 6am today grafting till 6pm shifting rubble all day and brick laying, think ill settle for this can in bed with the footie on then sleep as soon as its finished :)

I like a good few Belgian beers by myself on occasion. The only time I had a 'proper' drink alone was NYE 2008/9 - we were due to have friends round, but my wife caught the flu and we had to cancel, so I sat in my office with a fair few tins of Guinness. Crikey that was depressing!
