Do you drink alone?

I get ales in to enjoy and drink at least a couple of times a week, never really get drunk and I do it because I like the taste of it, it's a nice treat to come home from work late at night and sit down with a nice cold glass of whatever new ale they have in asda

At the moment yes, tbh if its a choice between not getting any sleep or getting ****** i take the second option every time.

I was going to say I don't drink alone as I prefer drinking in company but that's not strictly true - if I'm on holiday then I might well go to a bar on my own and have a few drinks, probably chat to the bar staff or whoever happens to be around but I'm not drinking in company as I normally would. Then of course there's the fact that quite a few mates don't like going into pubs on their own so I'll be drinking alone until they come along - being the first one to a pub isn't something that has ever bothered me much.

Me and the missus rarely get out these days due to lack of babysitters and so on so we usually have a couple on a Saturday night. This normally involves her dozing off to whatever film we're watching and me sticking on the Xbox or playing eve on the pc.

I sometimes get stinking drunk tbh but I don't see a problem with it, costs nowt and I don't have to get a taxi home.

To answer the question, yes, I drink at home but only a couple before bedtime etc or a glass or two of wine with a meal.

As an old timer, I find this sort of thing facinating: in as much as I've always gotten tipsy ;) as a 'side effect' of having a socially good time .... ie chatting in the bar etc: and I've been 'tipsy' quite a lot!

I've never understood the mentality of getting smashed for the sake of it ... having a load of vodka before going out etc ... my age, I suppose but most of my drinking buddies (male and female) who vary in age from 20s to 60s, do much the same as me.

Social life at the pub can become the only social life when one gets older .. heavy drinking at home is for the alcoholics amongst us!

Cheers! ..... hic! :D

I have done before sat down with some take away, a boxset and some beer, made for a good night but not something I plan to do again. I have the odd beer now and then but dont really drink to much alone or with others.

I like a scotch of an evening. Don't see much of a problem with that but I also have a tendency to drink when I'm stressed or depressed and that's not a good thing. I tend to think of never drink alone as a safety net.

I'll sometimes drink a bottle of ale on my home/when I'm at home, since ale fits the idea of a relaxing drink perfectly. But I've done this about twice in the last 6 months, so its more once in a blue moon thing.

I enjoy a couple of cans whilst watching a film alone, and have got drunk alone a few times. :D

i'm going to break convention, but that's mainly due to being unhappy

i drink when gaming, and generally i get a bit peeshed on occasion.

doesn't mean i'm an alky tho

Drink the odd beer/ glass of wine but nothing too intoxicating. Also if I'm about to go out and playing catch up I might have a couple but don't usually drink to get drunk.
