Over all positive reaction then really, i thought there would be more shape haters.

I think the interior wins people over, which i suppose is the bit that counts, if only they had done something else instead of make it look like a hatch back, that car would have been a winner with a more defined boot.

I can't see any nice wood. Maybe its the photos (tbl? :D ) but it looks like plastic to me. :(

Sorry, but I just can't get over the rear end .Maybe it'll grow on me like the Mulsanne is starting to but right now it'd be a XF for me.

Apart from the back everything else is stunning. White leather though? Brave man! :p

Quite a fan of these; infact I'm a fan of all new cars Jaguar produce at the moment. Would love to hear that sound system too, it's probably one of the best factory-fitted setups you can buy.

That's a stunningly beautiful car, the only problem I have with it is the size. As someone who thinks an A6 is too big for the UK, these new XJ's are just silly. You literally cannot open the doors if you park in a standard sized car parking space and trying to pass anything on a country lane is impossible.

How do I know this? I had a test drive when they first were launched and the Jaguar dealer in Norwich basically admitted that the car was a nightmare in rural England.

Kudos to your brother for going for it though. I would have had the big diesel if it was mine though!

It definitely looks like the kind of car to be driven around in, especially with a rear cabin like that. Just need some tv screens in the headrests.

They are gorgeous aren't they? :D My dad purchased one last year, the portfolio 3.5 Diesel. His isn't the long wheel based version though. I'll try to get some pictures up.

Before that one he had the XJR 4.2 Supercharged and now, going to a Diesel, he misses it a lot! And is swapping for the 5 Litre XJ SC Super Sport at the end of this year. I really do love the new shape though!

The last of the good looking Jags them :)

These new ones are just bold impressive looking things, not beautiful like the old Jags, they just look the same as all the big German cars, the days of individualism are over i think.

The wood, i dunno, it does look like wood in the flesh but you know about my photo skills :)

I saw some "configured" or what ever they call it on the rack in the showroom but that didnt look any better really.

I think if it was me i would have just gone for the black piano wood and done, cant fall off with black.

An XJ coupe with any luck, that would see me back in a Jag :D

I do agree, the original Jag style was brilliant. It really did look mean yet elegant.

I have pics of both, I'll get them up when I've got a minute.

Second time back to the dealers for some sort of software update, reboot jobber, hes loving it me brother up till now.

Oh I missed this post the first time, but lovely, very nice indeed. If I was picking a car as a daily driver for 75k ...that's 'probably' where my money would go.

I don't like the Flying Spur all that much myself, it's too hard and noisy and has very little technology in it considering the price and market position, I was always disapointed with the FS, promised much more than it actually offered in the end in my opinion.

The front is nice on these, but the back is just ...well it's not very Jaguar really. It looks more like something you'ed expect to carry a Maybach badge from certain angles.
