As title really just thought i'd let you all know. Ive ordered it elsewhere, but if we get to predownload it ill cancel it and get it from steam instead.
Either way you got to have steam to play the game.

I saw when it first came up there and it was £19.99 must have been that for about 10 minutes then jumped up to £29.99. Shame I don't really want it hehe

I've been burned by BO and Empire recently so even though my mouse will hover over the 'Buy' button I'll wait for demos/reviews first!

I'm not waiting for reviews after Empire. CA and/or Sega have obviously taken to paying for their 90%+ reviews. Waiting a month or 2 for player reviews. I'm still hurting from the burn Empire gave me!

Even from what little I've read so far, the whole "hero units" thing sort of makes me want to vomit and then throw said vomit at CA's windows.

Nice to see a company treating us like adults and not including pre-order 'bonus'. But that aside, I got burnt by Empire so dont think I'll be buying at release and full price this time. No stability issues, so not for the main reason most were moaning at the time. Just that the game was a bit naff and uninvolving.

Bought it on the strength of how amazing the original Rome and MTW were. Or should I say how amazing the mods for them were? I think thats what it boils down too and why Empire sucks so badly. Next to no mods. Did they with hold tools to stop people creating units so they could peddle DLC and pre-order 'bonuses'?

I dont mind too much buying at release if the Software firm has a golden track record. But I will give Creative Assembly's release a miss for the first month until I can see >1month on positive forum response. Dont trust the review sites to ever get a game like this right. Very disappointed with Edge magazines 9 score.

Am highly tempted by this game but just look at those system specs!!!!

I might have a to wait a while and see how well it runs on a 4870x2....

Pre-ordered simply because I loved the first TW:Shogun.

That game had the best manual ever, better than a history book.

Loved my fanatic warrior monks who would rather die in battle than disgrace themselves by fleeing. Or the master swordsman who would hold that strategically important bridge against groups of enemies. Or the no-dachi samurai who were the shock troopers and stole their weapon design from the FF series:

the Mori clan shall rise again!!! :D

Lol how can they be stolen from the Final Fantasy series when the Nodachi/Odachi weapons actually existed long before a videogame series. :p

I remember I got way too ahead of myself at one point and made an entire squad full of just the Nodachi Samurai troops up to the maximum limited it was allowed and used them to take on an enemy province. Bad idea that was since it was one of those terrains where both sides were seperated by a river with two bridges only, and of course the enemy had archers (Only 2 small units too!). You can easily tell how this battle went. :D

considering a lot of review sites were giving empire 90/100 on release even though most people couldnt play it because of the bugs and then taking forever to release a patch I'm waiting a few months too.

There are mods for empire and its not a bad game these days but the way CA treated us by releasing napolean afterwards I will never pre-order again.
