Hi guys...

Yes I been spending all night building this system up only to find out that the motherboard has no IDE sockets and I only have IDE dvd drives ... :mad:

your sig shows you have a F3 1tb just format that and use it

Google for windows 7 usb install - it can be done. (I also made this mistake, and found myself having to go into town the morning my stuff arrived for a SATA drive).

I had to get a new DVD drive when I got my rog motherboard. The IDE slots are a waste of mobo space now, but you can get a sata DVDRW drive for around £15 so its not a big deal.

Lol. Just pop to the high street and pick one up surely? Otherwise it'll be well into next week by the time it arrives.

As for getting an external dvd rw, why? Their double the price!

Or, usb Windows installation if you've got access to a pc/laptop & the web.

From the OP. Good idea to wait, think many are doing the same. Intels third generation are due very soon and should offer larger capacity at lower prices.

Only my dvd-writer was an IDE drive..Which was perfect as i no had or needed a sata power connecter at the top of my case where my dvd-write was...

Am having lots of trouble with trying get SLI to work....
I been spending hours on trying to get an SLI option to show up in the nvidia control panel and am having no luck with it...

Am really ranning out of idea's of what to try next to get the SLI working..

Think am going try putting in my two old GTX 275 cards next to see if the SLI option will show up in the nvidia control panel with them..

Yes i have the SLI bridge fitted...

I have tryed the SLI bridge in both postions,I downloaded every 580 driver including the beta's and tryed them all,i tryed swapping the cards around,i tryed swaping the monitor output,
i updated the motherboard bios,i clear the cmos,and nothing giving me the SLI enable option

maybe with the board being brand new you will have to wait until the next nvidia driver update for them to add sli support for it ?

Asrock probably never anticipated more than a handful of sales let alone someone trying to load the board with 2 580s ! :eek:

Hope it's a silly bios setting that can be easily fixed.

Just installed my two GTX 275 cards and the SLI is still not working...

So this problem has nothing to do with my new GTX 580's

I may try install w7 again (without SP1) and see if that makes any difference..
