Is PSN Going down the pan

didnt psn start off in the pan, so now its actually round the u bend and on its way down the main soil pipe

black ops is absolutely great on xbox btw
 
Playing fps on consoles is where you are all going wrong.

Pc for fps/rts/mmo consoles for everything else.

I tell you what though, just how sad do you have to be to hack a games console so as you can run the game from HD and run custom hacks so as you can cheat?

Regardless of what platform, it happens on PC as well. I was doing some time trials on F1 2010 and some of the times posted were just pure out and out cheating...

It ruins it for the ones that really want to enjoy their gaming. It is really sad, and I feel for anyone who buys a game to play online and have to put up with this short of rubbish..

I hope Sony just ban all consoles that run custom codes online. Bound to get slammed for that, as some really do want hacked consoles, but I find it quite sad really....

just sold my black ops for £31 + £ 2post = 33 thats more than i paid for it so all is good
 
Having had both a 360 and currently owning a PS3 I can honestly say that the PS3 is a much better console with way better games, however the on-line on some games is embarrassing, Black Ops being me main culprit here.

Why? Shocking cross-platform coding coming from the ancient XBox 360. Look at what the PS3 is capable of graphics wise (Killzone, Heavy Rain, Uncharted to name a few), there should be no way on this earth that we're getting the worse off ports.
 
This thread was always going to turn into a fanboy argument. Nice to see the 360 fans couldn't keep their noses out of it. And just lol at the "Black Ops is great on 360" and "Sure they hack on the 360, but there's no flying people!" posts. :rolleyes:
 
Yep, this thread contains serious amounts of drivel ........ seriously if the 360 is so great ( have one myself, I play Black ops on it ) then go play and stop trolling in this thread.

OP contains serious amounts of exaggeration, there have been hacks of 360 since COD4 ( if not before ), MS have had time to combat this .... but they are continually playing cat and mouse with the hackers.

This is a recent development and Sony have not yet had time to begin counter-measures against the hacks.

This is an ongoing situation, and to consign the PSN to the scrapheap is premature and foolish.

Fanboys and trolls! on a gaming forum, I never!
 
Look how far we've come if hackers are wrecking our console games.

I'd never have thought that possible as a child blowing dust out of my cartridges when they wouldn't load :p

tbf - this is also what you get for playing fps on console (bit harsh but...). I've got it on both. PS3 version is dire in comparison to control.
 
The thing that makes the PS3 exclusives great is the devs being allowed to access the hardware directly. Naughty Dog for example, programmed some of Uncharted 2 in assembly. Not allowed to do this on the 360 and therefore none of the multiplat devs will bother learning Cell assembly to get amazing results as it's not cost effective.

TBH - never understood how fps got so popular on games consoles. I remember when doom was released for the SNES ad it was dire... I thought at the time that'll never work.. PC's will always be the FPS platform...

I remember trying to play Halo on xbox back when I was a huge PC gamer using keyboard and mouse... It too was dire.

Some games are great with a gamepad, but some games should have been left on the PC. I too say its harsh, but its true..

way beter games? the games come out on both systems, there are very few ps3 exclusives that are only on that system, and once youve played them, thats it, nothing sets either apart from the other, so that statement is rubbish

Its true, I play black ops on 360, i find absolutely nothing to moan about, those who play it on ps3 however...

hmm, I have both systems, neither is modded, cheats in online games is nothing to do with either sony or ms, so neither will ever put that much effort into stopping it, its the responsibility of the game developers

its cheats that are ruining your online experience, not console hackers, if you dip into some of the console hacking/modding communities, you will find nothing about cheats, yet they seem to have become labelled as hackers, not so

after having both systems for a while, i can honestly say that the 360 is far more preferable, you get what you pay for with an online service at the end of the day, ps3 is a good bit of hardware, but the actual experience of using it is not as good as 360 with live, i cant remember the last time i turned my ps3 on, its not even plugged in any more, its just waiting for final fantasy xiii versus now and maybe i will mod it in a while when i see whats what with that situation

Its blatantly obvious the post you're quoting is referring to the exlusives(He even makes comments about the bad ports!?) and when it comes to those exclusives, there are more than "a very few" available. I'm in agreement with buchtis that the exlusives on PS3 make the console my preferred console. I dont see what is rubbish about that. If you disagree and prefer the 360, or you're in a neutral standing and like both equally fair enough. But dont tell other people they're wrong when they have ever right to feel the way they do.

You know, "The very few" Such as MGS4, Uncharted 1 and 2, Killzone, Resistance 1 and 2, God of war HD and 3... Shall i stop? No? okay Heavy rain, Little big planet, Demon souls?

Surely you can comprehend that he's saying ports are worse on PS3??? Which in turn says that his initial "Way better games" post is about the exclusives?!

Agreed I recall playing the first NFS Underground online (best NFS game to date might I add) on the ps2. Back then the PSN was utter ******. Now its pretty much on par with xbox live.

I hate to say this but the only way to reduce all this game hacking milarky is to introduce a subcription fee and ban anyone who tries to molest a game!

i moved from PS3 to xbox and was completley dissapointed at having to pay for live , didnt help that ater reading all the fanboy comments on here i was expecting so much more. i still dont know what im paying for to be honest ! it might have some ways of talking to people with 2 less button clicks than PSN but the making players host games on their home internet connection instead of having dedicated servers is just embarrassing for a service that you pay for imo.

18 players max online ? with lag ? when im paying for it ? on the ps3 i could play RFOM2 with 59 other players and have no lag. for free

live may be better in some ways (i cant really think of one that i use though...) but having to pay for it with no choice cancels this out.

web browser and iplayer used to come in handy too... for free
