Nissan 350z New Car Review (pictures included)

Service intervals are 9000 miles or 1 year tyres can be done for under £400 for all four if you switch to Falken FK452. At a guess your running RE040 which are rubbish for UK weather conditions they require a lot heat in them for good performance and the Falkens are well liked in the UK get yourself over to 350Z-UK for more info.

I bet the Falkens are well liked because people have convinced themselves they are amazing as they are easy on the pocket, in reality there are countless better tyres, though as a car ages the better tyres lose favour with the owners club as new owners become more budget concious and will seemingly stop at nothing to convince themselves and others that the cheap option is just as good as the more established performance tyres. Can't remember the last time somebody said 'Continental' on some of the BMW forums :(

Bridgestones are awful in these conditions though.

Well yea, not neccesarily saying the RE040 is the tyre of choice, just trying to head of the LingFalkenKumhoSuperPootoBlanket KU452's at the pass :p

It's almost like you are on a crusade about this though, why not just let people fit the tyres they want ?

In this weather I have no doubt that Falkens will be better and safer than the Bridgestones.

Fox have you tried them my guess is no so please don't make assumptions because you can not get beyond brand image in your perfect little world.

I'm sorry, but when it comes to tyres brand image is irrelevant. And I'm sure no one here chooses a tyre based on the name.

In fairness, Fox has a point. While I think arguing the small difference between some of the tyres in the established tests is a bit too far, some of the 'advice' on the Internet does need to be put clearly in it's place. He does a service to science by pointing out the problem constantly, as however irritating it may become when you've read it 600 times, there's always someone who hasn't seen it yet.

To the OP - nice car. I've driven the 350Z (albeit an automatic) for quite some miles and really enjoyed it. However, I am starting to think it may have had it's day, and £15,000 feels, to me at least, a little too much for one of these nowadays. I've not even thought about what alternatives there are, but it just... I dunno, seems lot! :p

Why would I try them when a close friend of mine tried them on an absolutely identical car to mine in every way bar the transmission and found - shock horror - that they didnt perform as well as the more established brands? That would be a daft thing to do given those findings :p

Kumho's and Falkens do a job. I'm not going to put them on an M3 but I'll happily put them on my 1.4 hatchback.

Do love the 350z as well, lovely car!
