overclocking pci-e bus for a higher bclk

Hi, all. Could someone tell me if increasing the pci-e bus will allow me to have a higher blck? I'm trying to run my i7860 at 20*200 but it keeps failing unless i turn down the base clock and increase my multi. I dunno how I can get a higher blck. Would I need to increase my voltages ( dunno which ones ), or pci-e frequency? I've got a p55 chipset.
 
What is the frequency that your ram is at when you have the 200x20mulit? It might be your ram.

Also list your hardware details and include the voltages you are using.
 
Iv used pci-e frequency at 100, and had my bclk upto 226, may go higher but got bored of testing. So for me that frequency dos'nt really need messing with.

It really all depends on the quality of the motherboard, and as said above what voltages everything is set at.

I've got an Asus maximus extreme 3 motherboard with a i7 860 cpu.
My specs are below:

CPU running @ 4Ghz 1.4v (Okay for an i7 860) @ 182 * 22.
IMC running at 1.31v.
RAM is running at 1.65v @ 1456Mhz Rated at 1600mhz

If I start increasing my BCLK things can start to fail. I know increasing the BCLK, you overclock your motherboard and ram and the motherboard I've got is know to be excellent for overclocking.

I think I should increase the IMC voltage (I'm only running 2 * 2GB modules 4GB). I'm really not too sure. My i7 860 has a locked multi, so the only way to get a higher clocked is to increase the base clock.

Have u tried upping the Qpi volts and Pll volts, all i did to get a high base clock was make sure the pll and qpi where upped a bit.

Now i won't say that 226 was stable, as i was showing off to mates on another forum so was a quick test lol.

I'll try and play around with the QPI voltage when I get the change. Hopefully I'll be able to reach a decent CPU speed with my ram @ 1600Mhz instead of 1456 MHz
 
I found that decreasing the QPI mulitplier helped me get a higher overclock. Might be worth a try. If I remember correctly I put it pretty low. I think so it came to a total of 5600Mhz or something.

The lowest I can set my QPI is 6407Mhz (summat like that) after increasing my BCLK to 200. I don't know what's classed at high for my chipset (p55)

MMMMM I fount out my bios was out of date by about 8 months ^_^.

I've upgrading my BIOS to the latest version. I ran my system at 4.2Ghz @ 200 * 21 for an hour using OCCT (This was without HT and power saving features are turned off)

I'm going to be priming my system all day tomorrow, see if I run into any problems.

Seems okay so-far (I hope)
 
Looking good. Been priming for 12 hours now with them settings. The max temperature is at 58 degrees for a quad core 4.2ghz clock 200*21
