I cant give names because of the legal process but you wont believe this story. It is a bit long so I will try to shorten as much as possible.

I met my girlfriend 18 months ago after my wife went AWOL. Her ex was a complete and utter numpty. As she was seeing me he refused to pay any maintenance despite we don't live together. On the phone to me he said if I dated her the kids were my responsibility. Even though I explained I pay for my son regularly. I was doing well with my business so I told him to get lost. he didn't pay anything for 18 months.

Things got bad and I got sick and I am on ESA till my operation is complete. Although she works she has been going half's on running my car to get her children to school. I can't help her financially so she approach the ex husband for help. He refused so she took it to the CSA in desperation.

He has failed to comply and has told her he will never help. Last Thursday the CSA took an attachment of earnings from his wages as a Bus driver.

He went ballistic at her and said she wont ever get a further penny. So on Friday night he went out, got himself tanked up and deliberately crashed his car whilst being 4 times over the limit. He is usually a tee total. He now says he will lose his job and will not be able to pay. As well as the CSA wont be able to prosecute or take his driving licence as a punishment.

What scum on the roads aye. Put us all at risk!!!

To top it she has had loads of threatening calls from his family and tonight she got a call from a company saying they had called her as they were told she needs to make a Will.

The Police are coming over later

My understanding is that when charged with 'drunk in charge of a motor vehicle' it is an automatic ban. If the alcohol on his breathe was under 40 then he might not have been charged but 4 times over I don't think you are ever that lucky.

I hope she's worth it, sounds like your going to have to stand and bang. Thought about taking up some sort if self defence training?

Lets hope he gets banged up for a while, deliberately ruining your career to avoid paying child support is not the actions of a well balanced man.

Shame he dint kill him self eh ?

More likely to kill someone else. He called the CSA saying he was going to quit his job. The CSA said unless he was dismissed they would look at the circumstances and if he was avoiding payment prosecute.

What a nasty thing to do, and what is worst as a professional driver he may well be able to keep his licence as it is his living. Cant believe it if he does, this guy really wanted to do damage. Surely he cant keep his licence.

Not that I condone in any way what he did but it's always struck me as strange how the absent father has to pay so much, yet a 'replacement' father can just waltz in and enjoy the fruits of someone else's labour. If you're taking on a family as the role of father shouldn't you contribute as well?

Our old next door neighbour was screwed like this in a big way, couldn't sell the old family home and some jobless waster ended up living in a house he was basically paying for.

Depends on how highly you see the value in the animal like instinct to spread your own genes. Me personally, I would never want to raise someone else's kids and love the fact that mine are being raised by other people.
