AMD Catalyst 11.1 (Official WHQL) Download & Discussion

Is it just me or can anyone access 5870 drivers on AMD's website.

Every time I enter details to display 5870 drivers the search button just stops working :O

because 11.1a is beta it shows the last driver u had installed or something like that

if u install 11.1 then install 11.1a over it it should say 11.1

*confused*

Is there actually a 11.1a? I just installed the thingy on the site :)

Edit: nm, learn to read original post :) not hurting for performance in anything, so will wait for the next WHQL's. I installed the drivers from AMD's site tho - those are reporting 10.12?

Downloading now, going to compare with the 10.8 on my new crossfire setup. (Never bothered to upgrade to any of the ones since).

Okay according to the 11.1 release note, the driver version is 8.812 - which corresponds with what DXDiag is reporting. So some wierd bug in CCC misreporting I guess (or someone forgot to update a string)

Typical, been checking all day, and when I go to work what look what appears! Oh well, I will give them a try when I get home.

Just installed the 11.1a dated today and still showing 10.11 in CCC. Driver version in dxdiag is correct I believe (8.820.2.0) so must just be a bug in CCC.

Driver Packaging Version 8.82.2-110119a-112250E-ATI
Catalyst Version 10.11
Provider ATI Technologies Inc.
2D Driver Version 8.01.01.1123
2D Driver File Path /REGISTRY/MACHINE/SYSTEM/ControlSet001/Control/CLASS/{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}/0002
Direct3D Version 7.14.10.0812
OpenGL Version 6.14.10.10516
Catalyst Control Center Version 2011.0119.1312.23596

Good results for me in the DiRT2 Benchmark. Min went from 42.1fps to 59.1, average went from 65.8 to 67.1. I haven't been following since 10.8 at all though so I've no idea if these perform better or worse than the last lot.

Well i've just installed them for my 6850 and low and behold it still claims i'm using 10.12 drivers even though they were from the official site.

It does get harder and harder to see the good in AMD's drivers sometimes...

I don't think it updates the version number. What dies your driver packaging version say?

The 11.1a beta drivers were 8.820.2 sets so are those official ones an older build?

So its the Drivers fault without doubt from your statement, so many other 6850 users should be having the same issue as it could not be possibly any thing that they had done on there set-ups.
