Keys & Gray in Sexism Row

I hope the next high profile woman in media to say something sexist gets sacked straight away. I bet you there'd be an outcry against the decision.

This whole thing is an absolute joke. Why sack someone for their personal beliefs, expressed off air. This was purely a business decision by Sky, not a moral one in the slightest. The male atmosphere still pervades.

PS I bloody hate Karren Brady. Why is she bragging about leaving 75% board members as women when she left Birmingham? She should only be bragging about leaving the best individuals for the job.

Dark forces at work

Sky Sports presenter Richard Keys resigns after attacking 'dark forces at work'.
Dark forces indeed

Wake up to the 21st century mate, everybody you worked with hates your guts and "over the moon" that you are going to be "sick as a parrot".

You knew everyone he worked with personally?

Didnt think so, oh by the way did you read my post about Loose women?
Got any views on those replusive, sexist women?

  • You knew everyone he worked with personally? - I do, yes; every last rejoicing soul.
  • Didnt think so, oh by the way did you read my post about Loose women? - Possibly, stuff happens :(
  • Got any views on those replusive, sexist women? - Which replusive (sic), sexist women would that be

Surely you are delighted that a couple of fat, smug, ageing bar stool slobs have been put out to grass and we now have some hope of watching and listening to some decent people commentating on the football rather than indulging their pet prejudices and pretending that we didn't move into the 21st century quite a few years ago?

  • Yes and Ill be even happier when those fat, smug, ageing slobs that are loose women get sacked, because they are loads worse then Andy Gray!

What if Andy Gray started decribing women as lazy, dirty and useless??
The **** would have hit the fan, big time. But hey its ok for loose women to do this???

It seems you only want to open your eyes to the Sky sports drama but sexism works both ways!

You do seem to have a bit of a thing about loose women, don't you?

Do you find that they keep turning you down, no matter how much you flash your cash?

Have you considered buying a large brown paper bag?

Can we stick to football commentary, commentators and their witless rants please?

Thanks for showing us all what a true muppet you are!
Whats the matter cant answer the question?
Brown paper bag? LoL

Simple question to Stockhausen:
What if Andy Gray started decribing women as lazy, dirty and useless??

Stockhausen: Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah

So is that your final answer?
Oh are you going to come up with a sensible answer?
Oh is that a little bit to taxing for you?

Looks like stockhausen thinks its fine for women to be sexist against men on a TV programme then.
Guess that makes you sexist then!
YaY!

Firstly, I've not seen Loose women, I can imagine what they say and imagine I'd find them fairly irritating and repulsive, hence I don't watch.

Its about expectations, people won't complain if on a comedy show someone makes a racist joke, however, if a news anchor on BBC news made the same joke, they'd get fired.

Loose women is a non serious show about women venting(probably rubbish), Sky Sports isn't. Soccer AM made sexist jokes about women, its expected. A football show thats not a light hearted chatshow, with sketches no less in soccer am's case, is not the same.

The women that went on with Lovejoy and had a bit of banter, often with sexist comments was with both parties consenting. Andy Gray and Keys picked on a SPECIFIC WOMAN, questioning her ability purely because she was a woman, and showed a general lack of respect and NOT a joke about their expectations of female officials, they also personally mentioned Karen Brady, and in the other clips, appearing to make a female co-worker uncomftable with their sexual banter.

Do loose women attack specific people without cause? If the lineswoman involved, at the end of a poor game had made many mistakes and potentially seemed nervous or worried and too scared to make a big call because she was worried about the crowd, it would have been a valid talking point, thats not what happened.

As for on air/off air, I have NO issue at all with the fact that they said it near a camera, it shouldn't leak, and I don't care that they said it, I don't care its on camera. The thing is women do work at Sky, and the situation is them having to put up with essentially a hostile and disrespectful workplace.

I don't know if they continually do this around the work place, it would seem judging by the leaked video's, the sacking, the resigning that many women at Sky WERE fed up of the way they behaved, in which case firing them was right.

Do men get upset at Loose women, do men WATCH loose women? Do men in the workplace not like the way the women talk off camera, do they feel the women are simply acting it up for the camera's but off air are absolutely lovely people and the men have no issue, or are they utter ***** off air and make lewd comments about the men in the workplace?

@ DM
The thing is Im not debating weather the comments Andy Gray made were wrong.
It was a pretty stupid thing to say but not worth sacking imo.
I did 10 years in the building game and I worked with tons of people a hundred times worse then that, and thats just some of the women!
My point is that if Andy Gray gets sacked for sexist remarks, then where do you draw the line? Loose women is not a comedy show, its not shown after watershed and they are blatantly sexist.

Ive only seen loose women a couple of times, normally when the missus had control of the remote! But to answer your question, yeah I found it pretty ****. (I wouldnt say it offended me but the episode I saw had them all agreeing men were dirty). Which as Im sure you'll agree DM is bull. So if they are like this on air, god knows what they can be like off air? You may be right and they might all be nice as pie off set, but then why be nasty to men on air?

My point is there shouldnt be one rule for one and one rule for the other.
Yet clearly certain people cant see this?!?!??!?!

EDIT:
Just read that a few weeks ago they were slagging off male midwifes, saying things like, men shouldnt do that, men cant multi task, wouldnt have one near my end etc.
Not quite the same thing as the Andy Gray comment but not a million miles off!

Can't see anybody touching them with a bargepole for a good while, not after the stink caused by this incident. Ron Atkinson's broadcasting career was ruined by a similar indiscretion.

Ron Atkinson's was much worse.

This whole thing is ridiculous and if I was in charge of employment at ESPN I wouldn't hesitate in snapping at least Andy Gray up. I think he'll be a big loss to Sky Sports.

Personally I cant see what all the fuss is about, bit of a joke that he got sacked for those comments, but I guess it gave sky sports a perfect opportunity to get rid.
