AMD Catalyst 11.1 (Official WHQL) Download & Discussion

Do make sure you reset all the settings to defaults though. (Preferences, factory defaults) That prevents a lot of problems, you can then set them back to how you like.

I second this, it may indeed prevent a lot of common issues.

Uninstalling the driver beforehand can fix some issues as well, I don't usually do that but if you do some software changes or experience some problems, it may be a good idea to uninstall the old driver before updating to the latest one.

Do I uninstall old before installing the new?

TBH I would to be safe. I installed it over my 10.11 and got a BSOD within 30mins. After a clean install everything is running fun and I have about a 10% increase in Crysis (avg fps from 55 from 51) so pretty happy in all :)

Hi Guys,

The most annoying part is that I still get black flashes on BFBC2 which I was really hoping they would fix.

Chris

Thats a easy fix its because u have the dxversion setting at auto change it to 11 in the settings.ini located in documents/bfbc2.

Lads,
was there ever any solution to the 99% load issue/UAC black screen delay problem that surfaced over the last couple of releases ?
10.11 didn't have any issues as such, but every release since including the latest 11.1a has introduced this problem with my 5970. Completely at random (only took 5mins to get the problem this morning) the primary core gets left at 735/1010 (and 99% load), secondary left at 157/300.........which will eventually lead to the driver recovery etc.
Tried all variations of driver install, even had a fresh install of Win7 to see if something else was introducing a problem with no success.

Switching in and out of 3D mode doesn't help either, so unless there is a fix its back to last years drivers at this rate.

That Problem is still there unfortunately.
Hope they get it sorted in the next driver.

anybody know the reason i get a CCC.exe popup at startup now usual windows 7 thing of asking me if its ok to make changes but its every bloody startup arrrrgh!

Trying to update my drivers (on a 5870) and keep getting the following error:

Error 1327. Invalid drive T:\

I get this when I try to uninstall the old drivers and if I try to install the new ones. I've tried drive sweeper in safe mode but still have the same problem. never had problems uninstalling ati drivers before so not sure what's causing this. Any ideas?

Ever since the 10.12s ive had a problem...

alt tabbing, loading up a game with a different resolution etc all stall my PC for about 60seconds. Sound loops etc until it's finished whatever the hell it's doing. It stopped for a bit and then i stupidly updated to the 11.1s and it's come back >_< any ideas what could be causing this?

Yes ever since 10.11 Medal of Honor does not work and just freezes and sound loops and requires a hard reset to clear it. Wondering if AMD are actually making things better with recent drivers since 10.10.. last good driver was 10.10 and before that 10.3 for me... These drivers make all games work for me without any problems. Getting a bit annoyed with recent drivers and tired of complaining on the AMD forums only to have the lame Spyre and his mob of AMD fans claiming they work and clearly they don't and anyone that complains gets banned from the forums.. Terrible forums there which make AMD look like total brats.. and uncaring when problems occur with their drivers or hardware... I'm slowly starting to think maybe time to go back to the green side and see if things are any better that side.. I hate having to uninstall drivers and have to change them for certain games to work right...

Did you try 10.12? 10.12s worked perfectly here in every game I've played over the last while. I completed Medal of Honor without any issues (aside from the game itself being a disappointment).
