BUY IT, RIGHT NOW...

I personally 'ummed and argghed' about buying an SSD because of the cost for months, i finally gave in 2 days ago. I got my C300 64GB SSD today and oh my lord! is it fast!

trust me you will not regret the forkout! :)

(This response would have been quicker, but my hard drive was deleting temp files in the background... chug chug chug :))
 
Great answer people should really read this, as there's just a constant flood of threads with people asking whether to buy one it's starting to get annoying.

Only reason I'm still umming and aahing is because of the amount of space.

Suppose I could go for a 64GB C300 for my main apps and games, and then a quick single platter for everything else.
 
o/s and apps would normally fit on a 64gb drive although I went for the 80gb Intel, it's the games that take up all the space. I ended up copying my wow folder to my NAS to free up 20gb.

Nah, I'm planning on getting a second Spinpoint F3 for Raid 0 sometime this month and waiting for the new generation of SSDs that is coming shortly (next month?).

They will do one of the following (or both):

a) drive the current prices down
b) offer better performance or capacity per £

100GB for £100 would be a good and worthwhile buy.
