** Official World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Thread **

I would totally support the evacuation of Outlands, and then having it nuked from orbit.

I don't get what the devs were smoking when they designed that place, but it's just one junky, drossy zone connected to another. I'm currently L73, and i'm so glad to be back on Azeroth. Outlands is the one area that makes WoW feel like an arduous grind up the backside.
 
I was playing last night and I love the people but really I was just thinking why am I letting myself sink hours into this and neglecting my other games. It's the social element totally.

Pfft, don't even bother with that tbh. Just have the lore so that it is totally evacuated and the planet breaks up, and alter Northrend slightly so that it covers 60-80.
 
They aren't going to spend time doing up outland, it's horrible, and will forever stay horrible.

Nagrand isnt a bad zone though IMO.
 
I hope they'd make it quicker to level. Some of the zones in Outland and Northrend have far too many quests.

To be honest with rested XP I can be level 68 with Hellfire, Zanga and some of Nagrand (thats with a few dungeons too). I find Outland easy and quick.

Outland is a pain but its soloable in a day. If you are sensible you only need to do hellfire, zanga and nagrand to finish to 68.

My major bug was northrend levelling. I've described it like hitting a brick wall in terms of levelling pace. Having to complete so many quests just to level drove me mad when levelling my alts.

Love Northrend. Really well designed and atmospheric zones. Always enjoy levelling there.

Would love it if they did. Update the two zones though. Be a nice touch.

One thing I've always thought would be a good idea is after an expansion rework all the zones including the raids. Destroy all the raids, let you wander the wreckage of BT, SWP or IC and move the raids to caverns of time. Can fit them in as a commemorative 'storyline' honoring the dead blah blah and let's them update the world more fully as well.

On another topic got my first few heroic drops, bought sone items with justice points and got a rep epic. My character is actually half decent now and can put out good dps at last :D still enjoying heroic difficulty as well. Good expansion so far!

I'd say enjoy it while you can, when you start getting Raiding/epic loot it soon drops to a mindless aoe fest again. I wish they didn't scale the gear soo much so they were always soo much fun as the first week.
 
I decided to start playing again when the Cataclysm struck and began a Paladin and got to level 58 and set off to the Outlands.

I almost gave up but decided to push through and am now doing WotLK for the first time.

I wanted an alt to swap to when bored so created a Death Knight, 2 quests I have managed in the Outlands before turning it off. The area is so dated compared to playing the 0-58 Catacylsm and the stuff I have done so far in WotLK.

Edit: Perhaps they should add in some 60-68 quests in Azeroth so we don't have to go there any more.

Can't have that can we, not even a reduction in subscription pricing.

Did they put up pricing with the VAT rise? (haven't checked, don't pay through that method)
 
You can be done with Outlands in 2 nights TOPS. 1 if you really want. I did some Hellfire and a bit of Nagrand and then was finished, only need to be 68 to do northrend.

I only get to play a couple of hours a night max, when I did it with my Paladin it dragged on for over a week.

I remember doing it with my mage when it had just came out and it took me months, even then I was left thinking that it wasn't fantastic compared to Azeroth.
