Dead Space 2 .

Just got a new 360 and a few games, picked up Forza 3, RDR and this. Gonna play it later with the lights off though. :D

I loved the first one, completed it twice on my old 360. Btw that head drop with the licker never happened in my RE2 game? He just used to stop at the pool of blood, look up and then the scene started.

I know its OT, but for anyone interested, it seems that the RE franchise may yet be on its way to the UK PSN store

The Resident Evil titles now have an internal ETA, but I can’t tell you when it is.
I know this doesn’t sound like much but to put this in perspective, they didn’t have ANY ETA for a long, long time.

Sweet, I've already got the first and second on disk but depending on the price I might buy them again for my PSP. Definitely gonna get 3 though, they better not be like £7 each.

just bought RE2 last week off the bay for £8, AND disc 1 is scratched grumble grumble, anyway would rather have them on the HDD.

So. Anybody offer any news on the plasma cutter in DS2 that you get if you have a DS1 savegame? Does it give it to you at the very beginning so you can chop up the necromorphs that you initially have to leg it from?

My mate got DS2 and has a DS1 save, no extra Plasma Cutter for him

LOL, I might have misread it after a quick Google. It appears to unlock a skin for the plasma cutter (its old mining look from DS1 rather than the new DS2 surgical look). Oh well. That's crap then.

Oh yeah i remember he got an online code to download it, cant say i noticed the difference :)

Anyone else find suit upgrading is very limited in this one? I'm on chapter 10 and only managed 1 suit upgrade. In DS1 I got to suit 5 at around chapter 10.

You must have missed some schematics along the way. I think there are five suits in total (incl. the patient suit you are in at the beginning). I'm on to my fourth one now on chapter 10.

Patient < Engineering < Security < Vintage < Advanced

Suit I'm using is +15% med pack usage. (not DLC) New game+ on Zealot, it's pretty easy so far but I started out with extra ammo, it's getting a bit more scarce now that I'm progressing though.

Hard core soon. Rage incoming!

I wish I picked up detonator for my first run through though, that's a freaking insane weapon.

there are additional suits on a second run through..elite versions of the originals, I currently am in the riot version of the security suit

Will it impact massively if I play the second one first, then the first one?

I can't for the life of me find a copy of the first game.

Probably not massively, but I'm replaying the first before I play DS2 in any case. I'm not sure I'd enjoy either game quite as much if I did it the other way around.

There are lots of little touches in the second half of DS2 that you might not fully appreciate without playing DS1. :)
