Gibbo's Evo: Housey Road Test Report

On a sportier car or on a car where the driver enjoys driving I'd disagree with this.

Thats fair enough your car is a lot more demanding than mine was. As i said when you asked about the steering the Audi didnt have great feel with GSD3s on it so winters made little difference there. IMO they did offer far more grip though than the GSD3s though over winter even on warmer days.

Can I just hijack and say it was good to put face to name at the Pistonheads meet Housey and also a pleasure to be greeted by Gibbo, even though I didn't recognise him in a hat! Wish I could have borrowed it for the sprint back with the top down!

Evo looked mean, looking forward to hearing it on the rollers :)

Ya, because everybody has high performance cars and drives them to the limit every day.
Seriously, get over yourself Fox.

Of course they're going to be spongier. I noticed it too, but I lived with it.

so that one day you need to do a emergency stop, and fly into the back of the car in front because you fitted mid range tyres you are going to love that £50-100 saving on tyres aren't you?

We're talking about winter tyres. The ones spoken about here cost almost £200 a corner.

FWIW, I fitted P7 Cinturatos to my 13-year-old Volvo at a rather substantial cost and I'm one of the very first on here to jump on people considering, let alone fitting, even 'mid-range' tyres.
But thanks for the lecture :)

woops i missed that. Soz :)

I have to say I did find it funny when I saw the Evo pull in. I was saying to my brother (who saw your car at the last RR at PS) "there's that Evo from OCUK" and had to do a double take as I was like who the hell is that driving!
It's very nice of you to give each other a drive in your cars, very trusting too! I hope you were both insured ;)

No, we just had a few unusually cold weeks in December, Jan seems the same as every Jan to me, and the reason I fit CS3's and Eagle F1's ;)

Bloody Southerns!

It has been quite a mild Jan, its at least 3 degrees up here! :p

both will be old enough to drive each others cars on DOC cover.

To lend your 30 grand RS4/Evo to somebody you know from the internet and never met before to drive on DOC is beyond brave :D

I've know Housey for years and met him several times. :)

Never met Gibbo in my life, good job I was both drunk and banned as it made me worry less about the total lack of insurance......and the MI5 shoot to kill.

You should lay of the drink, my car still stinks of a brewery. :(
