gtx560 or 6950?

I opted for 2x 560s (upgrading from an evga ssc 260), specifically the gigabyte SOC versions. According to all the benchmarks i've been able to find, this should yield the same SLi performance as two reference 570s, but for about 70 quid less per card. According to OCUK they're expected on the 1st, and i selected the 1st as the delivery date, but my order status still says "in warehouse queue" so not sure whether I'll see them tomorrow or not (fingers crossed though).

Nothing to put between the 6950 and the 560s really though. I think whichever you choose you'd be happy. 560 seems to have more overclocking headroom anecdotally (although i've read about people getting 1200 core with the 6950, bearing in mind this is the internet) but both cards at the same core perform pretty much identically. In some games AMD edge it, in others NVIDIA. But you're only talking 2-3 fps anyway.

What's interesting is if you compare 2x 560s at 1Ghz with a 580. 30-40% more performance, for sometimes less than 10% more money. IMO, as with the x60 ranges before, the 560s offer great bang for buck.

yeah I really wanna get it if I can't get enough money for it by the time it's sold out I'll just get the MSi one but it is sooo good i want one now :p

KiiYzOo, here's the benchmarks, all at 1680 resolution with max settings unless stated.

No problem.
None of the 'B' grade 480's, iirc 'B' grades only have a 3 month warranty(you would be better off checking first), as the 480's run very hot, personally I wouldn't take the chance. I wouldn't get the 5870 because If I was buying now, I would be really stuck deciding between the 6950 and the Asus 480:

and slap one of these on:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...=57&subcat=787
£237 and OC the nuts off of it!

If I can get enough money I may get two of these
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-117-MS
any good?
Yes they would be good, but so would two 460's OC'd in sli which you are already half way there!

Instead of them If I were in your shoes, I would get:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-238-AS
Sli it with your existing one, also get one of these
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-034-BQ

This to me would be your best bang for buck which would give you sli 460's and a 1920 res monitor for £235.

after reading this review it's making me really want this card :p I love the white PCB and how the cooler is aluminum!! :)

You just can't make up your mind, can you?:p

Quote from the Galaxy GTX 560 Ti GC review which is OC'd considerably faster than the kfa2!!!

'When we look at performance compared to the Radeon HD 6950, we find that with the video card at its default clock speeds it does not compare. The Radeon HD 6950 is clearly the better option. When we overclock the Galaxy GTX 560 Ti GC to its limits, only then does it compete with the Radeon HD 6950. While it competes in terms of performance, it does draw an enormous amount of power to do it and requires the fan to be run at 100% while gaming. Also, the highest overclock in the world will not make up for the fact that the Galaxy GTX 560 Ti GC is equipped with 1GB of GDDR5 while the Radeon HD 6950 is equipped with 2GB. When you consider the Radeon HD 6950 can also be unlocked and overclocked, we still lean with the Radeon HD 6950 being the better option.'

p.s Just noticed where you live, are you a jam tart or a hibee???;)

The money I will be using is including money for my gtx 460
Galaxy and kfa2 are the same company
