Anyone on here got a Yaris Tsport ?

LOL, it will only do 118mph, how can it pull easy at 100mph plus?

It's a well built car for driving in town and to the shops and that's it.

Drive one and you'll see.

It does rev at 4k which I find a tad high at 80. But it's a fun little car. Ofcourse as it's my first car I'm going to praise it, but it's not all that either. I did find the seats uncomfortable after a while, but maybe that's due to my gangster style lean driving position. All in all, it does the job and puts a grin on my face.

The seats in my gf's Yaris give me back ache if i'm in it for any more than a couple of hours.

The kind of fun where I peed off drivers in 5-Series BMW's. ;)

What? By driving faster than 70mph when they're not interested? Not all people in 5 series' think they're on their fast lap at silverstone, when in reality they heading down the M62 for a photocopier convention. My old 1.3 fiesta would go faster than a 5 series travelling at 70mph if I wanted it to.

Nope. Sat at 80 comfortabally. Pulled at 100 easy no problem. People really underestimate these cars tbh.

No they don't.. They are just realistic. I have a similar type of car and while it's fun on a B road blast it's a pita on the motorway tbh.

Just a suggestion, but I wouldn't talk so openly on the internet about the speeds you are doing on a public highway. Whilst I'm sure what you're talking about was done on a private road, I don't think your insurer would see it this way if you wrote your car off.

Or I could just be talking crap. ;)

Looking here it takes 13 seconds from 80 - 100??

That is quite comicly slow tbf, pulled to 100 easilly?? How?

Looking to count 128 KPH so around 18 seconds in then to 160KPH so I see around 31s.

By pull I meant it doesn't run out of Puff.

The problem is that 'Puff' is increability subjective. Cold hard numbers are what count and to be honest, 13 seconds for 80-100MPH is a boarding on pathetic.

Quite honestly Vita, you are using your car wrong. It going to be inherently rubbish on the motorway because it is a small engined, short geared Hatchback with a tiny wheelbase. While nobody is denying that it can't go on the motorway but it'll never be its strong point. What you want to do is go and find some lanes. Trust me.

Too true, the motorway is far from being it's strong point. If it had a 6th gear I would have enjoyed driving it on the motorway a lot more. Some windy country roads is where it feels a little more at home as it's quite chuckable.

This is the point in this car :) City and A road driving. The big boys in the 5 series when they put their foot down will embarrass your car, not be funny or having a pop just saying what it is. Even the reps in 2.0 TDIs will be much much quicker at motorway speeds.

Stick to the fun twisty stuff :)

Crikey, even my car does that in 5.2 seconds.

Quite, see figure above :p

I used to own one of these and it was a very nice car, certainly wouldnt be a bad shout for a first motor. It certainly isn't the fastest thing in the world, but with a 0-60 time of less than 9 seconds, and a top speed of near enough 120 but coupled with only group 7 (old groups) insurance it is quite a nice warm hatch for much cheaper running costs than the proper hot hatches like the saxo VTS / 106 GTI. I also averaged around 40MPG with it giving me no real trouble or unexpected costs outside of the usual servicing.

I did go down the route of some modifications in mine (exhaust / filter / springs) and to be honest trying to get power gains out of it is a bit of a fruitless exercise. A typhoon induction kit / 4-1 manifold / de-cat and exhaust will get you the 12BHP gain people have mentioned but you will have spent the best part of a grand doing it.

To try and give a bit of a view on the pulling power I changed from this to a 2.2 litre Astra (dons flame suit) and no, on reflection the Yaris doesn't pull anywher near as well as my current car once you get above 70, but compared to the 1.2 corsa I came from it was like a locomotive.

It isnt paticuarely refined on the motorway, sitting at around 3500rpm doing 70mph, but this does mean it pulls rather well for a little car as its inside its power band if you do put your foot down for more acceleration, it certainly starts running out of puff above 90mph though, but I can honestly say I never took mine beyond this, nor have I my current car so I don't see it as to much of an issue.

At the end of the day though, I loved mine to bits, it never failed to put a smile on my face whilst seeming a relatively nice place to sit for the class of car it is.

If you do go for one and the modding bug bites you, honestly dont bother with the power. Get yourself a set of Tein lowering springs, the car has a little too much body roll for a warm hatch as standard and these really stiffen it up and make it the laugh it should be. They are also a relatively sensible 38/35mm drop so dont give any clearence issues unless you're 5 up. Coupling this with changing the standard 185/55 tyres to 195/50s really transformed the feeling of mine. Both tyre sizes fit on the standard wheels with no problems, and the 195/50s are a good deal cheaper.

Hope this helps a little?
