I was wondering this morning where the bi-monthly culture debate thread was.

And here it is, with the same names talking the same talk without any logic whatsoever :p

I can guarantee you that it's just a handful of extremists groups, yes extremists that do that. That take their religious texts out of context and use it against people.

I wish people wouldn't see an article about one guy then go zomg all of them are doing it, what an arsey religion, yaddy yaddy ******* ya.

There will always be religious extremists, just becuase we now have more than one religion doesn't stop that. It doesn't help perhaps but isn't an outright cause.

It's like saying people can't live together because some are murderers.

Multiculturalism seems to work fine, 99% of people get on. I live in a pretty ethnic area and being white I am probably in the minority but have never had any kind of racist abuse and I have lived here 2 years now.

It seems people read about it in the Dailymail but never actually experience it.
The truth is racial incidents are rare and the racism was probably just a random insult rather than the reason.

If fat people had been killed in concentration camps and I called someone fat after they pushed infront of me at a cash machine that would probably be reported as a "weightist" incident in the paper.

Anyway who cares, after a couple of generations they are usually pretty westernised anyways.

I would rather have hard working immigrants earning a wage and paying tax than paying white people to pump out chavs because of the UKs declining population problems.

And obviously at the moment while we have this recession and there are not enough jobs it should be restricted. and even when there are jobs immigration should be controlled but imho it is the better alternative.

Considered in per capita terms, they probably do amount to being quite rare - we hear about them much more often these days both due to the prevalence of the media and its proclivity to focus on stories which are currently considerd hot topics. Any representative statistics would also have to define 'incident' - whether it's an overheard comment in a private conversation or a confrontation that leads to violence towards or derogation of the victim. Compared to the amount of 'incidents' that don't happen, I can eaily imagine the proportion swinging towards the 'rare' end of the spectrum.
 
Nah but srsly they're nearly all communists.

It goes back to the victimhood thing, they will always support the perceived 'underdog' (blacks, gays, women, immigrants, even muslims). That's why they are overwhelmingly left-wing. Same reason why most kids who were bullied at school turn in to flaming liberals. They hate anything perceived as a bully (America, Christians, males, guns, fox news, whatever). Jews have this "bullied kid syndrome" on a cultural level going back thousands of years.

Just look at their holidays, they are mostly about persecution and enemies:

Passover - celebrate the escape of slavery in egypt
Sukkot - celebrate wondering the desert for 40 years after said slavery
Chanukuh - celebrates battles against the greek opressors
Purim - celebrate killing more enemies
Holocaust day - obvious
Memorial day - remember all the dead jews killed by enemies
Jerusalem Day - remember getting revenge 2000 YEARS later

Imagine it all you wish, racial/hate crime happens on a daily basis plus issues that aren't forwarded to the police happen daily. It's just naive to think it's a rare occurance.

I'm white but I can vouch for my black friends that get hate slurs thrown at them in major cities a lot of the time. Not to mention this very forum has a lot of racists spouting hate.
