From the little I've seen of this game, it seems another standard MMO with a fairly weak unique selling point - certainly hasn't got me nearly as excited as The Old Republic and Guild Wars 2 which are genuinely trying to revolutionise the MMO genre.

However, the buzz around this game seems genuine, a similar level to a game like WAR and moreso than Aion and AoC. I may have to do a bit more research.

Despite the shortcomings of games like WAR and LotRO, I really did enjoy them for a few weeks purely for them being something different to WoW, so I may get this for the same reason. Can't see it being a game that holds my interest for long, but you never know. £30 or whatever it will be seems fair for a month's play, considering I rarely play most newly bought £40 console games for longer than that anyway.

haha went to sign up for that site, went to check emails and turns out i got an invite for this next beta, what does this mean ill be able to play the game at its current state from friday til monday? Are there a lot of restrictions etc?

If you've got a key then aply it to your account, download the client and start playing tomorrow night. Simples.

Oh, and AFTER you've applied your key, post it on here, as you can share keys with another 25 people.

Because you have the entitlement already to join future testing, this will not give you a better chance.

Because you are not given 100% chance to every beta, nor have they sent out all the emails.

RIFT Stress Test

We think they can handle pretty much whatever we throw at them... so let’s throw more stuff! We’re hosting a special “Bring Down the House” event this Saturday to see just how much they can handle. The proverbial gauntlet has been thrown down and to make it worth your while, we’ll be giving away 100 In-Game Prize Packs, and an Nvidia GTX 460 video card. All you have to do is play for the duration of the event. Bring it. We dare you. Because seriously, the riftspawn were saying some pretty rude things about all your moms.

emails confirming beta participation are being sent out all the time, so even if you don't get it soon you have upto 6pm 2moro to recieve it .. only got mine about 30mins ago..

Added my VIP beta key and it shows that it's applied to my account but on the account management page it still says "You have not yet been invited to a beta event."

"If you have applied a VIP beta code, or pre-ordered the game and applied your pre-order code, you will receive invitations to all RIFT beta events."

I've created my beta profile as well. Any ideas guys?

once you apply your Vip Beta code you have to wait for an email that confirms your invitation the event.

don't worry if you don't get it straight away as they are sending out confirmation emails persistantly upto and throughout the event.

Those prizes, at least the last beta event were residents of the US only.

just been looking on the site seems a bit too many classes like a ranger and a marksman? a warlock and a necromancer, and about 3 assasin like classes that all look the same :s
