Star Trek: Enterprise

Once the charaters developed a little it wasn't bad at all and season 3 was intense with the big story arc.

It did suffer greatly due to budget cuts and whatnot and was ended abruptly.

Shame, as I thought it had potential. :(

Thank god for that.

Enterprise was ok, but never seemed to know how/where the hell it wanted to go, or even if it was a ST or what.

The real kick in the teeth is the ending though.

Give me DS9 any day.

Amen to that.

Enterprise just didn't make sense most of the time.

DS9 is by far the best incarnation of ST to date.

i love how star trek splits opinions so much :D

for example, i prefer voyager over ds9 as although voyager was mostly average, it was at least consistent where as ds9 was a pile of crap right up until the last few seasons.

It's always going to be TNG though. i mean, that just IS star trek.

I quite enjoyed Enterprise tbh, probably because the exploration and discovery of stuff seemed to have much more impact imo.

TNG/DS9/Voyager felt very routine, surveys, reports, investigations, away teams. The characters in these shows were academic scientists and researchers that documented and mapped everything for further study.

Enterprise on the other hand, felt more akin to a bunch of people who've just graduated, and went travelling to see the world and meet new people. Without the established universe of the Federation it just felt 'newer'.

Do agree that DS9 wins as the best incarnation though, by a long way.

DS9 was horrible, I can't stand anything about it, Sisko is so wooden and rubbish, I absolutely hate the Ferengi, the Bajoran religious stuff is tiresome and the storyline is weak

DS9 was a strange one, it just couldn't decide what it wanted to be. On the one hand it was like a TV soap, on the other it had one of the best wars of any trek tv show or film.

Voyager was always fun and Janeway made a kickass captain. However, it always annoyed me how much of a beating they took and yet always looked as if they had just left spacedock.

TNG was the best
Followed by Enterprise
Followed by Voyager
Followed by the original series
Followed by DS9

it had cool wars though! but i agree i wasnt a sisqo fan and odo was crap to. quark was iritating , siskos son was a noob etc.

dominion wars rocked though

Season 4 has its moments, but most of the time I was staring at T'Pol's bottom.

Thank god for that.

Give me DS9 any day.

Until the last line () I was in full agreement with this. Even as a dreaful die hard TNG fanboy, I thought the ending was ill-judged.

The grand story arc in Season's 2 & 3 was a mistake, as I don't think that's the way Trek should be, or ever should if miracles happen and a new Trek comes to pass. Mini-arcs perhaps, but no multi season spanning affairs, that will always disappoint in the end.

As for DS9. Well that left me cold, but that's for another thread/argument. :D
