I thought this forum had a rule on Affiliate linking? I'm a Giffgaff member and I've love free credit as well but the rules on this forum state we cannot do so?

No, they're not allowed and have now been deleted.

Signed up using one of the links for this but so far disappointed with the Internet coverage on my Orange San Francisco phone.

Installed the Giffgaff application 1.3 to remove the O2 settings in case of conflict but the connection keeps dropping whenever I'm on the bus or in work whereas Vodafone was fine. O2 site checker said that I should be okay for inside use so at the moment looks like I'll be back on Vodafone unless I find a fix somewhere. :o

Just ran a speed test and I get 2.42Mb down and 1.58Mb up.

Dunno how as they only have 3g speeds on there internet?

When i was with them never got above 200k and enquired and that is what they said, they only use 3g speeds and not hsdpa.

Its not my phone as ive switched to tmobile and get the sort of speeds youve just quoted.

I left them as they removed the unlimited package for being used to much.

So unlimited doesnt mean unlimited with them at all.

Plus i couldnt stand 02's 3g coverage.

2g service was fine.

thats not right, i connect at hsdpa speed 90% of the time on giffgaff with my OSF and X10

(edit)
here we go, just enabled data roaming and ran speedtest.
'H' icon is visible, and the upload speeds make my ADSL look really poor :(

luky sod, we get hsdpa in yeovil, but my flat blocks it, walk out side and its fine again.

That really is odd!

I used to have full3g signal and they even told me i would only ever get 3g speeds.

I thought they meant everyone, maybe they meant just my area?

After seeing that Tesco do a 150 mins / unlimited texts deal for £7.50, I think i'll be moving from GiffGaff to Tesco. Suits my needs perfectly. easier than messing around with goodybags every month too!

Top up > Click buy goody bag online :p

You can load it up, so top up now and buy goodybags in one go for the next 6 months or w/e.

I just moved to giffgaff in December, got a bunch of friends on it too for the free credit. It's nice to have free calls and texts to other giffgaff numbers.

I've just cancelled my Tesco 30day sim only contract, and have ordered a free giffgaff sim from a friends affiliate link. I was getting fairly decent speeds on Tesco / O2 usually 300-900 kbs per seconds, so I am hoping Giff Gaff will be about the same and won't throttle back to ordinary 3G speeds. Are poeple still happy with the GiffGaff service?
