bloomin petrol prices..

Its really easy, you just cut waste, just like that. You know, press the 'cut waste' button. And fire half the public sector as well! And just delete the welfare state so you dont need to pay them for not working LOLOLOLOL

Well to be fair, this would save hella cash money. Public service jobs increased by like eleventy billion percent under Labour.

Pretty clear to somebody without access to the sort of information the PM has?

Typical rypt.

No clear to someone who thinks we do not need the welfare spend that we have, we don't need the an MOD the size it is, the public sector pensions the size they are

MOD has same procurement budget as Israeli defence force, yet MANY more procurement staff.

And yes cutting is very easy, you find the people and services you don't want and then just get rid of them or close the services down.

Yea, public sector pensions are easy to deal with, you just get rid of something you are legally and contractually obliged to provide

The biggest saving there is just to stop paying out to those who have retired. Nice and easy eh rypt

I'm glad you've also become a leading defence expert as well as everything else you claim to know all about. It's good that you've managed to work stuff out about the MOD that experts have been unable to do.

Just filled up 1.29! Result! :D

By my calcs, my small 45L tank = about 9.9 gallons - I managed to squeeze 445 miles out of it so 45mpg average at the moment... not bad considering there's some London driving in there too... I think it should have started to break in by now, as I hope to get closer to the 50mpg mark in due course....

What are you running these days?

Oh come on Rypt. The amount of waste in this country appauls me to my very core but even I know (despite joking about it) that you can't just stop paying benefits, stop paying pensions, and sack a load of the public sector.

Running a country has never been as simple as that, sadly.

Easier solution - lets just stop paying off our debt, boom, billions upon billions saved and no one need lose jobs.

A FOOLPROOF SOLUTION, i'm sure you'll agree.

Nothing exciting, Honda Civic 2.2CDTi (company car, it's actually quite nice if I'm honest). I've done about 15.5k miles on it so far (had it about 9-10 months) though I hear they can take up to about 18k before they start to return better economy - though living in London it's going to be hard to get decent combined economy. Though it'll sit between 45-50mpg at motorway speeds.

My friend is a pilot for Qatar Airways and lives in Doha, only recently just moved there. He said petrol is around 20p a litre. Im not sure if he was overexagerating or not but still....

I have noticed a marked increase in the difference between normal unleaded and V-Power.

It used to be 3-5ppl difference depending on the station, but now its 8-10ppl more than standard unleaded. Seems to be a doubling in price difference, when fuel itself has only gone up ~40% or so since Dec 2006. V-Power (Optimax) then was 93.9ppl, today I paid 133.9.

I'VE often thought this. After all, what are our creditors going to do? Kick down the door and take our telly? ;)

I too have noticed this. It used to be a few pennies difference and now its about 10pence more
