Mine? Was sitting a long way away from the screen and iphone + zoom = reduced quality, don't worry, it doesn't look like that!!

Looks like a ghoul from Fallout 3. :D

I'm still not swayed by this. Gonna check out some YouTube vids or something and then *possibly* buy this on Friday if I like what I see. 360 version though, I have no idea who else on the 360 will be buying.

EDIT:

I think this is from the PC version but it's a decent video. It probably contains spoilers and stuff so don't watch if you're bothered about that sort of thing. Doesn't exactly look great, the handling looks pretty bad, I know that's a 4WD car he's driving but there's hardly any sliding action it actually looks like the handling is similar to Midnight Club which was pretty shocking. Also, are there no windscreen wipers in this game? It was raining on one of those racing school tests but the wipers never came on.

He looks like a ghoul as he has just had surgery and his head is wrapped in bandages. They disappear after 60 mims but you can't get hair cuts etc until they have gone

That's a good look for him :)

Definitely looking forward to getting my copy. I had an email this morning saying my order was being processed :D

I suppose it would be too much to hope for, but I don't suppose that when you return to Hawaii, that all your stuff from TDU1 is still there and ready to go?

Please tell me it gets better it looks dull and boring from that video. Will have it thursday hopefully but i'm a bit underwhelmed so far...

What do you mean by dull and boring? It's a video of him driving around. The entire game is a driving lifestyle game. You simply get in your car and drive around, deciding what you want to do next. If that doesn't seem like something you'll enjoy, then you probably won't like TDU2 at all. TDU1 was an absolutely awesome game and personally, if TDU2 follows the same formula, I know for a fact that I will enjoy it. There's nothing better than meeting up with your friends in your awesome cars, and then just driving the roads for a few hours with absolutely no inclination to anything but that :)

That sounds like it will get mind numbingly boring very quickly. A few of us started a posse up on Red Dead Redemption when it first came out, the idea of riding around into the sunset with nothing else to do except chill out and just mooch around on horses or go hunting animals sounded amazing in theory but after a week or so it just got boring as hell.

I'm not impressed from that video at all, everything seems to be average, average graphics, average audio as far as I can tell through laptop speakers, average car physics, crap lip syncing like they literally spent 50p on that part of the game. The studio that made this made the V-Rally games didn't they? And they were pretty notorious for having **** poor handling, you couldn't even keep the power on when the car started sliding. :p

Don't get me wrong I'm not hating on the game before I've even played it but I'm just saying it looks decidedly average from everything I've seen so far and I even heard that the BETA was less than impressive. Every time I've brought up physics when talking to friends about this they seem to say that the social aspect is more important, I find that hard to believe when this should be a racing game first and foremost and if the cars don't handle at least vaguely how you'd expect them to then what's the point? You can still have half decent handling without having the more sim-like handling of your Gran Turismo's and Forza's.

It looks like the handling is incredibly boring, exactly the same as Midnight Club LA was, that would have been an amazing game in terms of the open world and the various stuff you could do but the cars all handled like they were on rails and you could never really go wild with them no matter how hard you tried. I'd like to be proved wrong and I think maybe this is the type of game I'm better off renting instead of paying full price for and then hating.

I just don't understand why there's so much love so far for this game when everything I've seen makes it look nothing more than a 5 or 6/10 game.

Some of the races are so frustrating. Was doing the Ibiza Cup eliminator race and I was leading all the way and then I spun out on last corner.

Did you ever play TDU1?

Most of the fun (for me anyway) came just from driving around.

I enjoyed the first one this just looks the same. You would think seeing as its 5 years since the first that this would be considerably better...
