***The Official Gran Turismo 5 Thread***

they are ok, but just seem's like PD never looked at how a rally car/rally driver goes around the track for the special events.

Its almost like they have done a normal track and thought "make this rally" with normal rules etc.

i dont know if it's something im doing but, when the car slides round a corner, pressing the accellerate button (R2 for me) the car has adelay of a few seconds before it goes again.

you've probably got traction control on.

Just finished all the professional series with gold and unlocked the veyron.

Is it completely uncontrollable for everybody else or is it just me? It does not like corners!

I'm annoyed it's not a premium car :(

Guys I need help bad. Doing the Historic Racing Car Cup on Expert, getting absolutely hammered off the starting line by the competition and always end up about 8th. :(

Using a 700+ BHP Toyota 7 Race Car and i'm getting done by 450 BHP cars off the starting line, doesn't make any bloody sense!

What's the best car/set-up to use for this? Just need the 2 Golds on this and then I can start on Expert.

Yeah it's fully tricked out including a chassis re-build and whatnot. Really struggling these last two races, might have to shelf it for a bit as I can't find owt on Google.

I did it twice with the old Dodge Challenger which was bought for around 30,000 iirc and then taken into GT Auto to have the racing modification put on. After I did that I just went into the tuning shop and added the rest of the upgrades that aren't included with the racing modification and it easily won both events. Beating the Chapparal 2J and the Toyota 7 in the process.

I used a Lamborghini Countach (which had 400BHP fully tuned) so your Toyota 7 should make it a cakewalk. Try to outbrake them as you enter the first corner (applies to both DFR and Cote d' Azur), being really aggressive helps a lot.

Using the minolta for gran turismo all stars, easy enough but for nuremberg event best setting for down force etc? as all the twistyness catching me and spinning out.

raise the ride height and soften the springs.
its suspension is too stiff at default for such a bumpy track.

I did the Indy 500 miles yesterday and my god it was 2 hours of boredom to get a small amount of cr, xp and a jaguar I don't need :(

I am glad I have a X2010 otherwise it would have lasted even longer than 2 hours.

Anyone have trouble with the nascar daytona event? done them all and got the gold trophy in championship but the daytona is a pain in the neck.

I managed 3rd but won the championship and never went back to that race.
I think to win you need to be 3rd on the last lap, draft and take 1st on the lap bit.

Just did gold in all the seasonal races last night, it was fun but i feel a bit like I've haxed!

I went from level 15 all the way to 21 as well as got about 2.8M credits now and that's after buying a RM tuned cappuccino, a fully pimped RM ZR1 and stage 1 tuned 430 scud and the others.

The lower tier A-spec races seem a bit easy with these cars now!

Bought this 2 weeks ago, and nothing else has got a look in, absolutely love it.

Bit stuck on the last seasonal - the chevrolet corvette a think it was - bought 2 diff cars with same result - finished 2nd, 26 secs behind leader. Must be some tuning I need to do or maybe just drive better?

any tips?

Get a Corvette ZR1 from the dealership, then race modify it. Makes it a bit too easy though

Another tip, it's a bit naughty but you can cut the first corner massively
That and setup tweaks, make sure it's running fairly low and stiff, get the camber balance right, maybe even some toe-out on the front wheels to improve turn in as there are some fairly tight turns on the indy road course.
