Possible Test Drive Unlimited 2 information!

I enjoyed the first one this just looks the same.

So what's to complain about? Plus isn't that what sequels normally are, the same game essentially but with new features/different environments? I can't think of many that differ from this, especially racing games where there's only so much you can do.

Just got an email to download the game with serial and one serial for multi-player downloading now will try it this evening around 6 ish :-)

anyone else ?
oh For the PC !

But 5 years you would expect a few more improvements along the way ? It may just be the videos but it just looks crappy... Will see when mine turns up this week sometime...

It's pretty much what I expected, there are always allowances with games when they have such a big game world, it was the case with #1. It's never going to have the graphics or handling of GT5, but that's not what it's about.

I thought that the graphics in TDU were actually pretty decent given that the game world was absolutely massive. But to be fair, when you're hurtling down a road at 150mph+, you're hardly gazing around at the scenery that blurs by :)

It definitely, to me doesn't look like TDU + 4/5 years, the graphical element of the game is hardly dire, but not, in my eyes on par with what I'd expect right now, especially on the cars.

However, once you get going, the gameplay is great and the lack of "uber-gfx" really doesn't matter anymore..

Handling seems fine to me (bonnet cam) although I suck at driving in any other camera mode. Tbh in that one it just feels the same as GT5 (obviously in the same cam mode).

I admit, cockpit view seems to make the car handle like it's on stilts though, and that's noticeable in the video. :p

Edit: I can't drive cockpit to save my life. Just tried and I swerve left and right all the time. I guess it all comes down to which one you choose.

Cool I'll have to add you to XBL, or you can add me. :)

As much as I trust your opinion (if it was Skippi I'd outright know it was a **** game) I think it might be worth the safer option of a rental first. I wish they had it on a game trial when it comes out.

What do you mean by dull and boring? It's a video of him driving around. The entire game is a driving lifestyle game. You simply get in your car and drive around, deciding what you want to do next. If that doesn't seem like something you'll enjoy, then you probably won't like TDU2 at all. TDU1 was an absolutely awesome game and personally, if TDU2 follows the same formula, I know for a fact that I will enjoy it. There's nothing better than meeting up with your friends in your awesome cars, and then just driving the roads for a few hours with absolutely no inclination to anything but that :)

i played TDU 1 and loved it but i must admit i also think that vid looks a bit boring , perhaps ive been playing too much gt5

Quick question, I'll be pre-ordering this on Wednesday. Do you think it'll still come on time for Friday?

Cheers

Depends on where you order it from and the delivery method that you choose :)

Most of the time it should arrive next day if you place the order by about 4pm. Just make sure you do it sooner rather than later :)

The videos haven't really thrilled me yet either and I loved TDU1 even though it was broken online.

Maybe it'll be better when are actually playing it, I liked the freedom of the game and just being able to drive across the map unrestricted.

Does anyone know if you can go into a high street shop and pre-order over the counter? I was going to do it tomorrow and if the game is crap I'll just put it up on the MM, no way am I buying it on launch day and then paying through the ass for the casino DLC. :p

Are there still missions like TDU1? Carefully delivering a car to the far side of the island was incredibly frustrating, but totally addictive :D

I haven't found a single one of those yet, but I hope so :( Remeber doing the Enzo in TDU1, being so careful, 30 round all the streets, taking my time, finding an open straight and BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPPP and back down to 40 for a junction and traffic :D

That was some of the most realistic driving I've had in a game, waiting carefully for a big enough gap to overtake a line of cars, taking it easy on corners and junctions.

Didn't stop me screaming when someone crashed into you though :D
